Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
As you can see, I wanted to make the leap but just couldn't make a clean break, so now I have both a 986 and a 996.
Leading evidence: 'Clean break' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean break' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Been in Boxster's for eight years and decided to take the plunge. They really are very different cars, and I still need to figure this thing out. Also need to figure out how this board works since it's very different from PPBB. I'd post a pic (Midnight Blue, Graphite Gray) if I could figure out how. So far, I'm lovin' the ride!
Congratulations! As you can see, I wanted to make the leap but just couldn't make a clean break, so now I have both a 986 and a 996. However, the 996 is also supercharged for good measure. Congratulations and take it easy while you are learning your new ride. The two cars handle much differently IMO.
Congrats! Wife's had her Boxster for 4 years and I've had my Cab for 3. Wife thinks hers is better looking, and her car is fun to drive but the Carrera is it as far as I am concerned. I perfer the C2 rear weight bias handling, roomier cabin, more deluxe interior and other things in the Carrera. Let us know your thoughts on the 996.
Welcome, I am a former Boxster owner and PPBBer (Jim in VA). You can post pictures the same way as on PPBB. You will love the 996 and really love this board. There are a lot of helpful guys.
Boxsters aren't 'gateway', just a different (and fun) ride.
I've already swapped out the side markers to clear (the yellow doesn't suit me on a dark car). Will check out the cornering difference if the rain ever stops on the east coast.
