I think many people have installed the PSS9's and use their cars for street use.
Of course you can adjust height when installing (and of curse you can reinstall the coilovers, but this is not what is what is referred to when discussing the adjustability of the PSS9s)
Leading evidence: 'Install pss9's and use their cars' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust height' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

However, it's recommended that you have your car re-aligned after adjusting the height.

no you can adjust ride height but you have to realign the casr everytime you adjust ride height.

I never put them on softest setting so i didnt know how they felt for street use.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hey folks just bought a 02 C4S... i love it... very nicely optioned car artic silver full gray leather and black carpets, the techarts really make the car stand out..
has anyone put bilstein pss9 on the c4s for a daily driver car to stiffen it up some and maybe some occaisional track use ?
i didnt buy for a track car,
i have a GT3 for that but would be nice to have a few runs on the track with the all wheel drive..
i must admit the driveway looks really nice with C4S, GT3 and the Cayenne
I think many people have installed the PSS9's and use their cars for street use. It's especially useful because you can dial in your ride height.
BTW, post pics
"especially useful because you can dial in your ride height."
ONE OF THE REASONS I WANTED IT ! car appers to sit to high for my taste.. would deffinatly help to lower it some but im spoiled all other cars i have had have been lower.
will put up some pics, car is beautiful
Great addition. By far IMHO the most beautiful car in the 996 (non-GT3) lineup
You beat me to the punch though!!! My driveway in August would be similar with GT3, 911CAB, and Cayenne
I'll phone you later so we can meet up for a drive or the such.
This thread would be greatly enhanced with pics so we can all drool together.
There seems to be some confusion here:
With PSS9s you can not dial in ride height. Ride height is set upon installation. What you can adjust is the dampening (from 1-9). Dampening is the ability for the shock to rebound from compression. It can rebound quickly at 1 to slowly at 9 thus giving a feeling of stiffer ast 1 and softer at 9.
It's my understanding that you can do both. However, it's recommended that you have your car re-aligned after adjusting the height. Some do, some don't.
i had pss9 on 02c4s. it's very nicely valved, not harsh, just right firmness for sporting use on street. i never got that car on the track so can't comment on that.
congrats, that's a great addition to the GT3.
No this is not correct. The adjustments are for dampening only. Of course you can adjust height when installing (and of curse you can reinstall the coilovers, but this is not what is what is referred to when discussing the adjustability of the PSS9s)
Here is the description of the PSS9s:
The Bilstein PSS 9 Suspension provides the ultimate in performance tuning. The fully-adjustable monotube gas shock absorbers offer a selection of nine precise compression and rebound settings, from comfort to competition. Patented digressive piston head design and deflective valving instantly reacts to changing road conditions. Monotube design dissipates heat more effectively than a twin tube shock for cooler, more efficient operation and longer life. The front and rear progressive rate springs
allow accurate adjustment of the vehicle ride height
and center of gravity for the level of performance you seek.
Now you can enjoy the kind of precise suspension tuning formerly available only on race cars. The PSS 9 system puts you in complete control. Whether it's a weekend of competition or the daily commute, absolute handling and control are just a few twists away.
Do you mean that's only during installation? Once installed you can't adjust the ride height again?
no you can adjust ride height but you have to realign the casr everytime you adjust ride height. that is a fact. i had them on the 997 for track use. I never put them on softest setting so i didnt know how they felt for street use.
i will post pics of the garbage in drive this week the two " asses" in the garage look beautiful!
930man,
I'm a C2S guy so this is an inquiry for a friend who just recently bought a 2003 C4S. Is power directed 100% to the rear wheels until slippage is detected? Or, is the "default setting" something like 40% front - 60% rear until some slippage is detected?
Thanks.
