Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Cold start in the morning or when I am leaving the office in the evening is when the problem is prevelant.
Leading evidence: 'prevelant' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'prevelant' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run bit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

It runs fine, and cranks fine when it is started after it has been run a bit.

I thought perhaps it was bad gas, but I have chaned the gas and even ran some Techron fuel additive through it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car is an 04 C2. 4k miles one it. I bought it new at the end of 2005 - it was a dealer leftover. Anyway for about a month now when I start it in the morning the thing barely starts. It cranks fine, but seems like the engine is not getting enough gas. It idles very low at cold start, and sometimes it will die. I thought perhaps it was bad gas, but I have chaned the gas and even ran some Techron fuel additive through it. It runs fine, and cranks fine when it is started after it has been run a bit. Cold start in the morning or when I am leaving the office in the evening is when the problem is prevelant. Any thoughts. Oh and I have run codes, but get nothing.
Interesting
Here are the things that came to my mind, but I soon crossed them out as possibilities.
Battery - Nope, because it starts fine once the car is warmed and running.
MAF - Nope, since the car runs fine if it is warmed up
Only when it is cold, so I am thinking that it is the engine temperature sensor or some sort of coolant temperature sensor that basically tells the DME that the engine is cold to spray more fuel out at the injectors.
The key is that you said the car idles low when cold and everything is fine when the car is warmed up.
That sounds logical. Thank you for the information. I think I am going to try and take it in next week. Thing is they will probably have to let it sit over night to get a read on what is going on with it.
I lived in San Antonio for 30 years so I know how hot Texas can get in the summer. It could be a slight vapor lock. We have had unusually high temps (for us in NC, anyway) in the mid to upper 90's over the last 3 to 4 days and I have noticed the same "start-up" issues the last couple of mornings.
Our weather is supposed to get back to "normal" (low to mid 80's) starting on Saturday, and I am guessing that the minor start-up issue I have been experiencing the last few days will disappear with the 90 + degree temps. I'll try to remember to report back on Monday or Tuesday of next week to provide more info on my totally unscientific theory.
I would imagine vapor lock would have more of a hard starting problem. I.E. long cranking cycle before the engine catches. Actually I think our cars right out of the box do have a slight vapor lock problem as if the car is driven hard after 1-2 hours rest it takes 2-3 times longer to crank it to start. But if parked for more than 4-5 hours or overnight then no problem.
To avoid that problem I turn th key on and leave it on for few seconds before I turn the key to starter position.
