Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The speaker I installed on the passenger side of the console, on the floor - was more than loud enough but again I had it in the coupe.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone comment on how well the Motorola Hands Free Kit works in a 996 Cabriolet (2001 if that matters) (with respect to background noise)? If so, can you let me know where you opted to place the microphone and speaker? The dealer is saying the speaker could either be on top of the windshield, behind the rear view mirror on the dashboard; and the speaker should be under the drivers steering column. Many thanks.

POST 2Original post

I installed this kit in my 2001 coupe, works really well, and mutes the radio when you have a call and the radio displays "PHONE". Since I had the coupe I installed the mic up through the driver's side A pillar and about 4" into the roof head liner so it was directly in front of me, but over the door - in a cab I think you might be able to install it in the A pillar. The speaker I installed on the passenger side of the console, on the floor - was more than loud enough but again I had it in the coupe.
