Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don't know what it is, but lately I have seen ALOT of exotics lately. Wife and I were just coming back form Costco (same intersection I snapped the pic of the McLaren SLR last week) and lookie what I just had my doors blwon off by...... A Carrera GT!!!!!!! Sorry but I wasn't nearly as quick on the draw with the camera phone as I was last week.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking at the pic now, I just realized it has to be the worst pic I have ever taken! Regardless, you should have heard that thing sing as he "pulled" away. Once again, I was in the wrong car. This time the Pepper. I really need to start drving the 996 more.

POST 3Original post

CGT my ***, that looks like a 2001 Toyota MR2!

POST 4Original post

Sounds like half-million dollar cars are a dime a dozen in your neck of the woods. Wayne Newton wasn't driving this one, was he? And to think I complimented you about how quick on the draw you were last week with the SLR pic. Looks like you need to brush up on your quick-draw technique from the cell phone holster. Either that or the CGT is a hell of a lot faster than the SLR. The CGT does sound nice when it accelerates quickly doesn't it! I eagerly await the next week's "Exotic of the Week Pic" sponsored by LVDell and Costco.

POST 5Original post

dell, i must be shopping at the wrong places if all these exotic owners can be found @ costco...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I missed the Lambo and Bently CGT since I left my phone at home on another trip a couple days ago. More pics of the week to come. Damn these trips to costco are killing my wallet!!!!

POST 7Original post

Dell, my man, you're losing your touch. I can't see squat in that pic. Try and be more ready next time for us 'listers. It was probably one of the Blue Man Group members coming back from a battery run at Costco...

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hate to throw the wife under the bus but she had my phone in her purse and I was frantically yelling...PHONE PHONE PHONE....get me the &#*&@%#$% PHONE!!!!! From now on, phone stays right within reach ALWAYS on camera mode. I promise I will have better pics at my next opportunity. BTW, where is that pic from your avitar??? Love the Texas flag in the background. I grew up in TX and graduated from UT. Where in NC are you. I am heading your way in 5 months!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wait, I think I recognize that flag. Is that from Texas world Speedway out near college station? (home of that "other" school in TX).

POST 10Original post

Nice Dell! CGT and SLR in one week is insane. Time to keep the digi cam in the car! Keep em coming HEre's a shot recently when I was in cali...

POST 11Original post

The other day when I was at the dealer dropping my car off (lets not talk about that) they had a brand new CGT on the showroom floor with a big sign that says "DO NOT TOUCH." Black on black - not the best color for that model if you ask me - kidna hides the lines. I LOVE the silver. Anyway, I said to the sales guy, "How am I going to buy this thing tonight without touching it?" He didn't even look up from his paper. He said he had driven it and it was INSANE. I just stood there drooling like some 12 year old kid. Sad. Maybe if I sell the house and live in it we can get one . . .

POST 12Original post

I was at the dealer looking around and the salesman pulled the ropes away and let me sit in the CGT...I didn't even ask. Pulling up in a Porsche gives you some credibility...nobody approached me when I was in my F150...

POST 13Original post

having a carerra gt just sitting in traffic like that, doesn't seem to look right... it's almost as if that car wasn't meant to stop :>

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good point Bob. That CGT at a stand still is breathtaking but needs to sing to us at WOT!!!!

POST 15Original post

A very nice gentleman from FL drove his CGT to the Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta this summer. PCA sponsorred the Porsche Platz and we got to take a few parade laps around the track the evening before the race. Guess who got to lead the pack! I didn't mind following.

POST 16Original post

My local dealer has had a CGT for months. We're only about $350,000 apart on the trade-in value for my 996TT. Sooner or later they will see things my way and unload that white (actually silver) elephant! Cheers,

POST 18Original post

You're spot on, my man... Texas World Speedway up on part of the old NASCAR oval. Yeppers, TWS is in Aggie Land. I really miss that track and the people I used to run with. However, I'm a Texas alum and I just can't BELIEVE that Vince Young chose fame, fortune, and financial security for a lifetime over the honor of playing for Texas yet another year!

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

UT alum myself (undergrad '96 and grad school '01) Broke my heart as well! I am thinking NOT sending any money into my Texas Ex fund since the boosters couldn't keep in school for one more year! Oh well, at least we finally got a title. Where abouts are you in NC now? I will be there in June (wife and I are moving to Cary). What about PCA involvement and track events?

POST 20Original post

A few weeks back I was vacationing in FL and the local dealer had 4 C-GT's on the lot, 2 in the showroom and 2 in the lot, my 15 yo son and I went in and looked around and no one seemed too care if we looked at, sat in and drooled over the C-GT, the salesman kind of gave my kid a look but I suggested to the salesman that "Ferry would approve of a kid happy in a car like that". It was near closing time and the salesman asks my kid if he would like to ride along as he moved one of the C-GT's from the front of the dealer to the garage in back-duh- It was about a 2 block ride from from front to back but the guy winds it up a bit as he pulls out and WOW does that car sing. My kid is buzzing for 2 days. Where I come from not many 15 year olds get a ride in a half million dollar car. He now has his sights set on the new Bugati (or however it's spelled).

POST 21Original post

Alright Dell, I will see your MCLaren, which I thought was pretty cool and pretty ugly and raise you a dark Blue Porsche 959 in Miami this weekend! Wow is all I can say. There is no way this was a kit. I just stood and watched, too shocked to pull out the camera phone. oo ooh, then I drove past Brahman (sp?) and saw the new Bugati in the window!!!!

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh come on Chris. What kind of tease is that????? You know we need pics.

POST 23Original post

Dell, I know, I really let the board down on this one. But I had something like 4 "first sightings" in about 3 hours of the same day in Miami. Not to mention, the 959 was BLUE. I didn't even know it came in blue! Dell, went to the AM dealer yesterday. This AM8 is going to be a pretty sweet car. Sounds like they are going to do a whole bunch of AM8 variants, including a more "track specific" version. Love the fact that they talk about "tracking" the car in the marketing piece, and that the engine is dry sump. The local dealer is also putting on a couple track events for new AM8 owners. Still no GT3 though...
