Any one know of any reliable mechanics near the Pasadena, Ca area? My 99 is approaching 60,000 miles and I want to hopefuly find someone other that my local Porsche dealer- where I wil be charged approx 1500.00. I've already tried searching old post but found nothing. Thanks for your responses.

60k service is usually around $600-700 at dealers. Try calling a few dealers to compare prices. You can also do it yourself. Renntech.org has step by step how-to. It'll take about 4 hrs. Basic tool kit from Costco ($50), filters, plugs, oils ($170-200), car ramps ($25) is all you need.

60K at porsche dealers..is NOT 700-800 but around 1500! I used an independent in Huntington Beach and they charged me 800. Newport beach porsche charge almost 1800 or something in that area.

isn't it strange though that a huge dealer in luxury cars (porsches, bentley, audi) has such a bad reputation?? You should expect them to be excelent, especially since they charge $129 peer hour plus tax!

I recently had my 60K done for $1100 at my dealer. That included the fuel filter. They originally wanted $1450 but I got a couple of independent quotes and they matched it.
