I recently purchased a 2000 996 that I am totally happy with except for a very small dent and several scratches on the nose of the front bumper cover. I was fortunate enough to locate a matching artic silver bumper cover in excellent condition. Could anyone please tell me if replacing this cover is relatively easy, or better left to professionals. I'm sorry to revive such an old thread, but I couldn't quite find the info I need. Does anyone have the DIY instructions for replacing the front and rear bumpers on a '99 996 C2? I'm replacing them with a set that's in better condition front and rear, so it's just a one-to-one swap. I'd like to know what's involved and the difficulty level before tackling such task. Thanks so much in advance!

Try searching over at www.renntech.org . I know they have instructions for removing the front bumper cover as part of the 3rd radiator install DIY but I am not sure about the rear bumper. Oh yeah, way to bring back the memory of the poor dog that Scott Watkins ran over!
