Either way, still looks great but it could use the front to balance out the rear taco wing.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It was snowing a bit today so I could pull myself out of the car and post (finally ran out of excuses to hop in and go for a drive). I picked up my 2001 996 C2 Last week. 34K miles. Mods are: 2/3 Aerokit (-front), PSS9, Kinesis K18s, GHL Exhaust (thanks, Tim), intake, and short shifter. Thanks for letting me lurk about and learn about the 996.

POST 6Original post

Great looking p-car........enjoy...... Great picture with Red Rocks & Mt. Evans in the background

POST 7Original post

looks great..love the spoiler on the back....makes the P look even faster..

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had mixed feelings about the aerokit at first, but now I love it! One of my friends, upon seeing the car for the first time, asked if I had gotten any speeding tickets while parked.

POST 10Original post

You ever wanna sell that car, you let me know....I'm looking for one literally exactily like that. Having a hard time finding one too.

POST 11Original post

FYI....doesn't appear to be the aerokit....just taco wing and skirts. That front is not the aero front, it's standard. Either way, still looks great but it could use the front to balance out the rear taco wing. If I am not mistaken, there was a thread this past week about aero parts and somebody was selling the aero front for $995 (Genuine Porsche OEM). And that price is less than list! Welcome aboard!

POST 12Original post

Looks really really nice! A rear wing and no front spoiler can make it dicey at high speeds - be careful.

POST 14Original post

Welcome Nice to see another 996 member in Colorado... There are a few of us. I saw your car a few months back at the dealer looks very nice.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the responses! Since I've had the car for about a week, I don't think I'll be selling anytime soon, sorry. LVDell, I totally blanked on mentioning that it didn't have the front bumper...whoops. FYI, it has the carrera wing, not the taco. From an aesthetic standpoint, I don't think that the car looks really "tail heavy" in person, since your always looking down at it and the lack of the front bumper isn't as apparent. I didn't consider high-speed stability, though? Is this something that I should be worried about? I don't really plan on driving 120+ very often. How light does the front-end get? I'm picturing the video of that GT1 going airborne...

POST 16Original post

Car looks nice with those beautiful CO mtns. in the background. Your camera date is interesting..04/02/2006? I don't think it looks out of balance at all.

POST 17Original post

Maybe 4th of Feb??? Set to European style date format???

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was using my friend's digital camera. He's from Hong Kong, hence the date. I do not have a time travel device.

POST 19Original post

Will: I drove that car. Nice sound and those GHL's exhausts give it grunt. You will need to get together with us soon. Also we will need to help you with the mod to turn off the spoiler light (you notice that small piece of black tape on the console). PS: Did Skip fix the wheels? I told him to But you know dealers.......

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it the GHL? Skip told me fabspeed, regardless I love the sound. How can I tell the two apart? Dealers are dealers. Wheels weren't fixed, but I didn't walk out the door paying what they were asking either. I'd love to get together, sounds like fun. BTW the pictures were taken just outside the Garden of the Gods in CO Springs. The mountain in the background is Pikes Peak.

POST 21Original post

Yeah I am almost 100% sure it is GHL. The intake is Evo I think. Yeah he wanted to move that car bad. He had had it for a long time. I think he was talking 40ish for it when I talked to him. Skip is a good guy. Doesn't know poop about his mods though. I was looking at the Yello S4 there and he insisted the wheels were a 3 piece 18. No, they ar a single piece 19 OZ wheel

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I saw that S4 too. Online, the wheels were listed as speedlines when the OZ logo is on the centercaps! I thought it looked like a really fast taxicab.

POST 23Original post

It s a nice car. The yellow is a bit much but it is nice.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Didn't mean to slam the S4. I've been in a couple pretty quic Biturbos that were chipped, etc. Haven't driven the V8 yet.

POST 25Original post

Didn't think you were The low end grunt is sure nice. But it does look like a taxi cab. Maybe its that meter on the dash.................
