I maybe moving my 996 to the Bay Area this summer and I was wondering if there are any recommended and trusted shops in the East Bay area I can take it to if needed (for example, if I decide to replace the control arms front and rear)?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Contact one or more PCA regions in Zone 7. Golden Gate Region, Loma Prieta, Sacramento Valley Region, Diablo Region, etc. That whole area SF/Marin/San Jose/San Ramon, etc is a hotbed of Pcars everywhere. I was member PCA GGR/SacValley for ~30 years.... YMMV

In the cases I need to take my car in, I'll take it to Kahler's in Dublin. Not cheap. But good. First time I went to them was for a HPDE pre-inspection. They do them for free for PCA. Now, if they find something that needs fixing, not so free.

POST 5Original post

I knew many in the Dublin area from about late 1960s. Denny Kahler was/is among them. Well known names like Bruce Anderson, Tom & Marge Green, Jerry Woods, Joe Reitmeir, Dwight Mitchell and others, a very long list... Remember you are in high-dollar northern CA, nothing will be cheap, especially anything to do with Porsche's. Why do you think many folks are leaving CA to go to less expensive places? just sayin'.... Big money for nearly anything...JMO. YMMV

IKR? Most of my neighbors in Boise now are from CA! We are actually one of the few that live in ID but bought in CA when the market was down 10+ years ago (market being down in NorCal all being relative of course). Thanks everyone for the beta on East Bay shops!
