Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I have been contemplating doing the 2002+ facelift to my 99 996. I have a pair of brand new 2002+ 996 original Porsche fenders, a set of liptronic lights off of a 2004 996 Turbo, and, a bumper off or a 2004 996 Turbo (original color blue but in excellent condition). For the last 2-3 weeks. I have been debating wether to have it done, or, sell my car (or trade in) and purchace a 2002+ vehicle, maybe even a 2001 turbo if I can pull it off. If I happen to do this, if anyone may be interested in doing the facelift, I will sell all parts for $1600. (which I believe is a pretty good deal). I am posting here because I could not get into the classified section to post. I renewed my membership via paypal as of 9:25pm 02/10, but, guess it has not processed yet so I am unable to post. If anyone may be interested, my email address is ([email removed]). I am in So Cal. in the Inland Empire area and prefer pickup, but, an not completely against shipping. Thanks Otto

POST 2Original post

can you show me some images? I have been thinking about doing the same thing.....I know I can buy both light for about 200-400 on ebay, a bumper for about 500 and the fenders I think for 350 each so 1600 sounds about right....I just wished I could get the fenders and bumper in black....

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nicolaas, I have a hard time posting pics up on the sight, still haven't figured it out. Email me and I will send you some pics. You are pretty much right on with the prices, except, on the lights, pretty tough to find them in great shape for anything under $600. as a set. In any case, all have just been sitting in my garage for a while, so, if you can pick up (which I see you aren't too far), bring $1400. cash and take it. Otto

POST 5Original post

la porsche dismantler I asked them about 2 months ago..he sells them for 350 each. I went there to buy a 3 spoke steering wheel

POST 6Original post

that LA Porsche Dismantler is such a con artist... here we have some USED clear side markers for the front bumper... for $100 each... a brand new pair is $34.xx. That's just ridiculous. $1500 for a pair of Litronics. Insane. He won't be getting any of my business at those prices. http://www.911pcar.com/Porsche_Parts...20Fog%20Lights

POST 7Original post

I know they are...the listed their 3 spoke steering wheels online for $600 I went there and he charged me 750 (take it or leave it) well if he is going to sleep better at night, who cares.... he wanted to charge me $100 for ugly dirty used floor mats!

POST 8Original post

Why not sell the stuff and go 997 facelift, I know the parts fit... My tuner gave his 2000 986S a 997 GT3 erokit facelift. If you source the parts yourself maybe a 5000$ job. Change the door handles and voila a 2006 Porsche 997....

POST 9Original post

That's funny, because I called them about a week ago and the price was 300... Prices may have gone down

POST 10Original post

I have been thinking about the 997 look, but it wouldn't be right.....the later 996 look on a 2000 would be considered normal and would look great...eventhough that French company makes a great 997 convertion kit..but front and back with light would be about 12K

POST 11Original post

tenster you never emailed me the images!! of your stuff

POST 12Original post

12K for the 997 conversion. No chance, my guy (And he doesn't have the best prices) qould do it for 7-8K. Although he is in the LA area and have no idea where you are. Get a list of the parts off of this site. Contact some online parts wholesalers and price it out yourself. I can't see it being more than 7-8k max.. And that's installed and painted.

POST 13Original post

yes evo..but remember he is kind of a con artist...like I said the steering wheel was quoted for 600 and he charged me 750...and you can't negotiate with the guy, because he really doesn't give a S.. ANd if they are 300 each even better...because I am really thinking of updating the front...can't stand the boxster lights and the mod I did 3 days ago.doesn't make me feel much better....look in my post headlight mods good or bad!!
