PPI in Downer's Grove, IL

I originally posted this in the Central Region but thought i might post here too. I was wondering if anyone had any dealings with LUXURY MOTORS 310 OGDEN AVENUE DOWNERS GROVE, IL 60515 and could recommend a PPI in the area. Also any comments on the dealer would be appreciated. Yes, I bought a 996 there two years ago. There is a Porsche dealer about 50-yards down the street which will handle the PPI, but make an appt. well in advance. Excellent experience. They even mailed me the spare key which they found about 6-months later. I was shocked to see a used car dealer follow through like that. Not one problem with the 996 thus far. PS, they are sharks where financing is concerned. Close the loan deal before you drive or fly any distance there. Better yet, secure financing elsewhere unless you have them fax the completed paperwork to you first.

Isn't this the Dealership that's under investigation for concealing cars accident histories?

The shop has lots of flash, lots of P cars and an unsavory reputation. I'd stay away. The dealer in Westmont is ethical, straight forward and pricey, but still a better choice.

I traded an MB for another MB from the Downers Grove location a couple of years ago. Negotiating with them was tough but I left feeling as though I had gotten a fair deal. Follow through with the title was terrible but felt that I'd do business with them again. Thus, a few months ago I didn't hesitate to look at a P-car at their Hoffman Estates location while I was visiting Chicago for the Thanksgiving weekend. I left furious. Even though I had an appointment, they didn't have the car ready for my initial inspection. It wouldn't start and the cars parked in front of it wouldn't start either - I had to wait until batteries were recharged on multiple cars. The interior of the car was disgustingly filthy and the air bag malfunction warning light was on. Even worse, the sales person wouldn't allow me to test drive it because he was afraid the battery wouldn't maintain its charge. Needless to say, I was completely turned off by the experience and subsequent phone discussions made matters worse, not better. It is truly a stereotypic used car dealership with more high-end cars than I feel they can ever possibly give appropriate attention to. Although my MB CL600 turned out to be a great car, I wouldn't trust buying a P-car or any other high-end car from them now unless it had most of its factory warranty remaining. A month or so later, I bought a CPO silver/black 2002 C4S (completely stock with 7000 miles and complete service records) from a P-car dealership in Barrington. I saw the car on Autotrader one morning and after lots of phone and e-mail exchanges, I was on a plane the next morning. They picked me up from the airport and I drove the car home to Indianapolis later that day. I love the car and find myself driving it on my 120 mile daily commute rather than the MB. Although my first experience with Luxury Motors in Downer's Grove was mostly positive, I no longer recommend them.
