Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Getting very much closer to ownership now ('been searching since August), but I do have to potentially make a choice between 2 C4S'. Both are artic silver. Both are non-snow belt vehicles. First one is a private sale 2003 really well equipped, Black leather, Factory PSE, Bose, heated seats, Xenons, diming mirrors/rain sensor, crested seats, painted crst wheels, small alum pkg, panted center console, etc... Mileage 24K, no CPO but factory warranty until May 07, super clean, never leased, PCA member owned all records. Asking 64K Second one is a dealer 2002 with: Grey leather, heated seats, xenons, diming mirrors/rain sensor, Bose, small silver pkg, painted center console, Supple leather, painted wheel crests. Mileage 20K, CPO until Sept 08. Leased one owner. Asking 62K Even though the dealer one is a little less money, it will cost the same or a bit more once I bring in because of some extra taxes. Is it best to go with the dealer car because of the extra 1 year powertrain warranty? Or go with the newer car with some assurance that it was babied? What to do, what to do...

POST 2Original post

Take the warranty and use the deal to get the dealer to add a few things. Good Luck!!

POST 3Original post

I will also get you the info on that Seal Gray one here.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Tim. Seems like all of a sudden there are a few cars that look like the real deal. BTW, the guy at Stevinson sent me an email asking if I was ready to move forward...Ha! Haven't had a chance to write back yet.

POST 5Original post

I'd go with '03 with the better option package - You're going to want a PSE anyway, this way you're picking it up from the get-go. They're sweet rides, you're in for some fun....

POST 6Original post

Personally I'd favour the 03 - nicely equipped and I'm sure there is some haggle room left, I highly doubt he'd let you walk away if you brought a certified cheque for $60k. Are you planning on owning the car for a long time or selling when warranty is up?

POST 7Original post

Not a big fan of the supple leather. The seats get all creased and look bad after awhile. I'd go with the newer one. You should be able to extend the warranty for 2 more years also which may be a good idea. Good luck.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've put off having a p-car for so long that I think I'll be keeping it for 3-4 years and driving it everyday rain or shine; I'm not a big believer in Garage Queens (what's the point?). Of course, all bets are off if I develop "Porsche-itis" and feel the need to upgrade to a TT or 997 C4S after a little while!
