Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I believe the only thing you can use from your US M030 set up if you switch to the ROW setup is the sway bars.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

from the ROW 030? Also is the US 030 a decent set-up or should I still upgrade it. I was thinking H & R coil-over, but if the 030 shocks are ok I might just go with the H & R springs to tighten it up a bit and drop it about 1". Any of you with experience please help. I do not want to make a mistake. I just bought the car several months ago,but plan on doing regulare DE events with it. I sold an Audi TT with a full H & R coil-over and larger sway bars, so I know what to exoect from the H & R as far a ride. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Pat

POST 2Original post

I have a '99 C2 with the stock suspension that H&R springs retrofitted to. I like it o.k. - it's a bit low for my driveway at least. It handles well on the street except sometimes I get the feel that the springs are a bit much for the shocks - especially the rears. On the track it still has the characteristic understeer. I think the H&R's would be better on your car as your shocks are more appropriately damped (the rears at least). Check out this PCA article on US vs. ROW M030 (among other things): 996 Standard and Sport Suspensions Analyzed

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have never seen that article.

POST 4Original post

No problem. I think it's an incredibly informative piece.

POST 5Original post

I have the US M030 suspension on my 2002 C2. It certainly is much better than a stock suspension, but the high ride height I do not like. Since I bought the car in August of 2005, I have been considering going to something else. For now, the current suspension is alot of fun, and I will probably live with it until I start tracking my car. I believe that the ROW030 suspension runs different shocks and springs. Shock dampening is at a different rate, and the springs are shorter. I believe the only thing you can use from your US M030 set up if you switch to the ROW setup is the sway bars. Have Fun, Tom L 2002 C2
