Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

it seems to me that this is hotter than it ran before.

Mine was running close to 200 on super-hot Summer days in heavy stop-and-go traffic.

Maybe i'm just being paranoid and looking for things that are wrong with the car, but it seems to me the car is running hotter than before.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
had the new engine in my 02 for about two weeks now. Have put about 700 miles on the car since I got it back.
Maybe i'm just being paranoid and looking for things that are wrong with the car, but it seems to me the car is running hotter than before.
The temp guage runs at a little over 180 when the car is warmed up. it seems to me that this is hotter than it ran before.
About what temp is normal??
Thanks for all the advice and knowledge!
I had the same issue with the temp gage , not used to seeing the needle go above the 12:00 position, mine runs between the 8and 0 and to the right of the 0 when its Im pushing it on a hot day or stop and go traffic , I hear from other owners this normal .... any objections from experts ?
Mine was running close to 200 on super-hot Summer days in heavy stop-and-go traffic. Turns out that one of my front cooling fans was dead. Mechanic said 180-190 is just right.
Yes, the warning light was coming on. I have an '00 Cab 4 and my temp gauge goes to 250. Not sure exactly at what temp the light is activated because my temp never reached all the way to 250.
The outside temp gauge on the car was in the mid 90's that day. And I had been in stop-and-go for over an hour with the AC running full blast. Typical N. Atlanta commute. Gotta love it...
My 02 runs between 180-190 while on the track here in Florida. Of course, we had some very hot track days this summer--mid 90's was common--inside the car temp, hotter yet! I'm told its normal, but I must admit, I sneak "many-a-look" while on the straights.
