I'm not sure, but it appears that factory parts were used with carbon fiber overlayed on top and finished appropriately.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, so I'd love to tell all of you that I had this interior kit custom made at Gemballa to match my paint (Mirage Metallic), but I didn't. They've had this kit for sale on ebay forever with no takers as it really is kind of a weird color. They were pushing it as "silver", but it is not silver. It is more of a goldish-silver and would probably look hideous on a silver Porsche. It just so happens that it matches my paint exactly. I couldn't be happier, having a very custom colored cf interior. Here's the pics- The first one is to show the color match.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

And, I got it for a steal of a price!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Next up is the PSS9 suspension upgrade - still waiting for the parts to get here. I'll do before/after pics once I get it installed.

POST 5Original post

Wow...looks really nice. See you were selective in which parts to CF. I like it.

POST 6Original post

WOW! is the dome light surround a factory porsche option?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not sure, but it appears that factory parts were used with carbon fiber overlayed on top and finished appropriately. Each piece looked like, smelled like and fit like the original factory pieces. Screw holes were exact spot on when installing the new pieces. Taking it apart was the bulk of the work as well as figuring out HOW to take things apart. The toughest pieces were the long skinny dash trims as they are screwed in from behind with tiny screws with absolutely no access. Total job took about 8 hours, including beer breaks and sandwich break.

POST 8Original post

This is the piece I asked Kirby fro 969 to look into in black CF. Silver CF is awesome in a black interior......Good Job

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! My wife hates it - she says it looks too flashy. But I really like it. I wasn't actually selective in which parts to change out. I bought the complete kit and installed the entire thing. I didn't buy the Gemballa CF steering wheel and shifter, as I have a tip and neither part would work with my car. It would've been nice having the matching gold/silver steering wheel and shifter, but I had no choice. Plus by not buying those pieces, I was able to save a bundle from Gemballa. Here's the kit as it was advertised on ebay:

POST 10Original post

Wow that work out nice! I bet it still wasn't cheap.

POST 11Original post

They are all factory parts that are laminated with the silver carbon. Here are some shots of our standard carbon, factory matched: Turbo Splitters Sill Finishers Seat Brackets Mirror Mounts Mirror Housings Ignition/Hazards Front Center Console

POST 12Original post

That is so nice Stevo. I tried to look up on ebay, but i think there is no more of them

POST 13Original post

Eric when are you going to let us 99' guys with the granit Grey plastic bits play? Looks nice stevo' what happened to the top of the center radio surround? (i see you have the sides)

POST 14Original post

It looks ok, but very gold colored, would be hideous on a silver car I agree. Eric's stuff looks the best I think.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I have been contemplating black CF for a long time, but when I came upon this stuff, it occurred to me that it would likely match my paint exactly. It is a goldish-silver. I decided to go for it as I would have easily spent the same amount hunting down second hand black CF items piece-by-piece. This seemed like a... "golden" opportunity. Couldn't resist...

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Rob- There never was a top center radio surround piece - kind of weird, huh? This was one of the reasons I was thinking of NOT buying the kit - I will probably never be able to get additional matching pieces and I really wanted a "complete" look for the surround. I had thought about painting my center frame (that includes the top piece you are referring to) when I have some other painting done. I am waiting for some body upgrades that will be on their way next week After I installed them, I decided that I can live with it the way it is - I don't think painting will look quite as good and there is already a lot of black alternating going on (look at the center console).
