Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Car previously ran fine, only issue was an intermittent starter issue with a high pitch whine after the car starts which I read was the starter failing to disengage in time, hence the need to replace.

Thanks, after taking it apart a 3rd time, it seems like the issue was the plenum wasn't sealed right.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Just replaced my starter with a refurb from rockauto. Connected everything back together and the car turns over and starts then immediately dies. I can keep it running by hitting the gas however as soon as I release the gas it sputters for a bit and then dies.
I did the key in ignition 50 sec and can hear the throttle body calibrating.
Plenum is reinstalled with the single vacuum line and one way check valve.
Maf sensor and throttle body sensor is connected.
Air box is installed.

I have taken it apart twice now, cleaned the plenum, intake.
Not sure what I'm missing before I have to tow it to a shop.
You most probably have a (rather large) vacuum leak on the intake side.
One thing comes to mind: the cross-over pipe is not seated correctly on the plenum.
A smoke test will show quickly if and where it draws unmetered air.
Thanks, after taking it apart a 3rd time, it seems like the issue was the plenum wasn't sealed right. I reseated it and no issues.
Tip for the plenum, on mine the left boot I could push onto the plastic intake further than the stop line. On the right boot I pushed it as far as I could on the intake. Once in position I made adjustments to both sides to get the intake in position. You can tell its in position by sliding it left and right and you can hear it hit the other hard plastic piece. Then take your time to push the boot back into position and try and feel the back to make sure. Secure the hose clamps as you go.
Agreed with the above!
A couple of us on here use this one or similar model from this company. Worked great for me. Relatively cheap and got it overnight!
