I am in process of buying 911 from performance auto, chapel hill. Anyone have experience dealing with them. I live in Massachusetts and would like to ship here but am paranoid about not seeing car. Car is porsche certified. Any advice? Dave [phone removed]

I'd have prepurchase inspection done on it by another source. Pull up service history and look for RMS history and tranny issue. If you have the VIN, any dealer can pull up warranty history but work done out of warranty will not be on it. If the car is still under original 4 yr warranty, RMS history would be sure be on the warranty history. During PPI, the person inspecting should check for clutch wear, body repair history, brake wear. The interior condition is usually indicative of how the previous owner treated the car. Is this place you are buying from a Porsche dealer? That's the only source to get a CPO warranty from Porsche. It's includes a minor 100 pt inspection which doesn't cover prior body work so I'd spend some money to have it checked out even if it's CPO. Dont' trust anything the sales person tells you. They often know less than what you can find out from doing some research. Don't trust carfax alone also. It's about as accurate as ......
