I ran those on my 928 and they bent, cracked, leaked, and corroded in street use.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Looking to get a set of BBS. Tire-rack's website shows I could use either of the LM, RE or RS-GT model. Anybody has any opinion on what works/looks best ? Thanks, Marc

POST 2Original post

Most here have the RS-GT model. Check out Todd's setup (TD in DC) since he has a car very close to your in color, etc. Kirby (ITZKIRB) also has those wheels but his car is seal ghey

POST 3Original post

Don't get the 3 piece "racing" model. I ran those on my 928 and they bent, cracked, leaked, and corroded in street use. They were VERY light though.

POST 5Original post

I have the RS-GT in Diamond black. So far they are great! Good for street and track, they are very light also. I'll post a few pics soon.

POST 8Original post

Does anyone have weights on these and the stock wheels?

POST 9Original post

hmm, from what I can remember I think they were about the same....Carrera 5-Spoke.

POST 10Original post

I love those Kirb! Really good looking wheels.

POST 13Original post

I like the RS-GT and the LM and will get one or the other after I upgrade my suspension.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Itzkirb, awesome looking wheels....I just sent you a PM....Cheers from the Great White North..

POST 17Original post

For whatever reason Daytona didn't require them. Far be it from me to question their judgment.

POST 18Original post

Was it a "parade lap"? Watkins Glen occasionally allows noon parade laps with no helmet required---speeds are limited during these sessions though.

POST 19Original post

Reason I asked is he said HOT lap not PARADE and the turn looks like the car is flexing a bit. Just curious why no helmet for those kinds of speed. Wasn't trying to be the helmet police, just curious as why not have a helmet on. I mean if Jeremy Clarkson never wears a helmet on Top Gear flying at triple digits around their track then I think most of us would be fine......but I usually error on the side of safety.

POST 20Original post

When I got off the track someone asked how fast I had been. My response was... ???? I actually didn't know, had to look in the owners manual to discover that the top end of 5th, the highest I had been, was ~130 MPH. And no, the car isn't bending, that's outside wheel lift.

POST 21Original post

Picky picky picky, I didn't say bending, I said flexing......i.e., spring flexing/compressing. Sorry I didn't have the correct terminology. Tomayto...Tomahto. regardless, 130 w/ no helmet is just plain stupid. To each his own though.

POST 22Original post

Hmmmm.... The only hemets I saw on the Autobahn was on donorcycle riders doing 150+ to my 130 (MPH that is.).

POST 23Original post

yeah and you could give a pig a rope but it don't make it a cowboy. Come on, it comes down to safety. That is all I was talking about. No helmet at triple digit speeds where margin for error decreases and chance for noggin inuries increases, you need to be proactive in your approach to safety. Still, as I said, to each his own. Last I will comment on this since the original thread was about wheels and we have gotten way off track....my apologies.

POST 24Original post

What was it ***** Nelson once said about his always wearing tennis shoes.... Hell, I ain't going to wear no cowboy boots and have people think I'm one of those road hoggin truckers!
