Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have the Sony Ericsson in-car hardwired bluetooth phone kit and it works great (with all BT phones, not just Sony Ericsson - I am currently using a RAZR with it).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone have one of these installed? Impressions did you hook it up to the stereo?

Car seat, stereo, etc.
ok.
the HF-850 is a bluetooth car kit manufactured by Motorola. I was inquiring if anyone installed it in their 996. I was looking for some personal experience with it (install, use, or otherwise)
here is the kit
HF-850
also if anyone hooked it up to the stereo instead of the speaker that comes with it.
Thanks - I'll dig through my Alpine owners manual but the install looks straight forward except for the taking everything apart - part.
just wanted to make sure it's a quality bit, not too $ @159.00

It is my 3rd kit in as many cars and I love their stuff.
The Moto kits I have no experience with.
G'day Rob, from Australia - I had this handsfree installed in my 2003 C2 996 last month, and am using it woth a RAZR phone. I had it professionally installed, and it integrates into the CDR-23 stereo inasmuch as "PHONE" lights up in the display on an incoming call and the sound mutes if the stereo is on. I have voice tags on my frequently called numbers and it's just a matter of pressing the blue central button and saying the voice tag for the phone to connect. I enjoy the wire-free Bluetooth connection, and the handsfree can "find" the phone even if it's in the trunk.
Be aware the central blue light is quite (very) bright. By good luck rather than good management my left hand blocks it from view when driving (this is a RHD car). I've attached a pic.
I would have liked the much more upmarket model (HF1000?) but it's NFS in Oz.
Cheers

Great info. Thanks and the light being very bright will force me to re-think the control placement (i have the GT-3 Center console delete) I was planning to place it near the hazard flasher button on the instrument pod, but moving it down to the front of the shifter would be easier and less distracting. Is the blue button lit continuously while the phone is in the car? I assume it indicates the bluetooth connection is active.
Also while looking at the Differences Noise canceling and voice number dial would be nice features to have.
Thanks again

Yes it's lit continuously. It's the button you push to answer a call. And yes, you're correct about it indicating the status of the bluetooth connection.

I have the Parrot CK3100 and it's sweet. It has caller id and stereo mute built in. highly recommended. works great with my treo. I have it mounted on a pro-fit bracket. the sound comes through the speakers as well
I originally purchased the 850 for one of my cars. I then ordered the 1000 for the C2 and another car. There is no comparison between the two. Once you use the 1000 you will never be satisfied with the 850. The ability to dial any number by voice with the 1000 and the much better user interface is great. I just traded in one of my cars for a new with Bluetooth built in and I moved the 850 to the car I traded in. Now all is good, bluetooth with full voice recognition in all cars now!
I really like the interface for the porche. I posted some picks in an earlier post if you are interested, just do a search on bluetooth.
