Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

A long time ago I listed a used 911 turbo-look cab in the NY Times classified, and some guy called for a test drive.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was at a demonstration with a guy I had heretofore considered to be somewhat of a car buff. (Has a nice Infinity G35). "That Carrera 4 sure is sweet. Diesel, right?" I kid you not. Can't make this stuff up.

POST 2Original post

Surely he was kiddiing, or maybe he thought you were Vin Diesel

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just looked at him and he said "What?" It's not a Diesel.... I said "You're not much of a car guy, are you?" and he replied "Guess not..." True.... I swear it!

POST 5Original post

I have a match for that idiot. A long time ago I listed a used 911 turbo-look cab in the NY Times classified, and some guy called for a test drive. He asked many questions, the last one being: "is it a two door or a four door?"..... Click.

POST 6Original post

I guess those blow away my run in with "stupid" when I picked up 2 rear tires at Discount Tire for my track wheels and the guy said......"Whoa, is that a Porsche 911?" and I said yes and his follow up was "whatta ya got under dat hood--4 cylinder right?" I had no idea what to say and he realized he was wrong to which he followed up "oh man my bad, that must be the Boxster that has the 4, yours has the V8." I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or just walk away. I walked away.

POST 7Original post

I remember an article from a car magazine a long time ago. The author was doing a cross-country drive in a Westfield Eleven: a Lotus Eleven kit car. He stops for gas in some Podunck county. The gas station attendant (it's an old story) is all over it, checking it out. He's obviously looking for a badge but doesn't find any. Finally, he checks the spinners on the knock-off wheels. He spots an arrow point counter-clockwise and the word "undo", so he asks the driver "How fast will that Undo go?".
