Since the car is registered in NY, and they no longer check the OBD2 when doing inspection, is there a way I can bypass the CEL for these issues ?

Just read this, so maybe the pump is ok, was just running continuously.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone, I am a new first time Porsche owner. Picked up a new to me 1999 911 C4 Cab. The car had the P0410/P0411 codes when I got it and I knew it would probably be the vac lines or check valves. But when I took out the pump today, it seems the connector on the car side got a bit too hot, one of the wires started to melt. I pulled the Bosch 40A relay and the 30 pin is black compared to the others. The relay failed the bench test. My question are: Do I try to reuse the pump when the new relay is installed or is it toast? When I took the pump cover off, the inner nut seems to spin freely. Do they sell those in car connectors ends so I can repin/add new connector? If the pump nut spins, does that mean the pump is not seized? Since the car is registered in NY, and they no longer check the OBD2 when doing inspection, is there a way I can bypass the CEL for these issues ?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just read this, so maybe the pump is ok, was just running continuously. Is there a fuse in this circuit or just the relay? A Stuck-Closed "On" Relay The Mechanism: The SAI pump is only meant to run for 60–120 seconds during a cold start. If the contacts inside the SAI Relay fuse or "weld" themselves together, the pump will run continuously.
