The other thing to check is to make sure H&R sent you the correct springs for the front...it should be stamped on the side of the spring and you can check on-line to make sure they are the correct ones....

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i did the swop today...what a job but actually not that bad. the rear droppped nicely from 26.5 to 25 inches. (stick 1 finger between tire and fender) the front dropped from 26.5 to only 26. the front does not look nice and the car looks nose high. (about 2.5 fingers from 3 fingers) i only did the h&r springs with my stock shocks. did i do something wrong ? any suggestions? thanks

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes. i have settled it. i have driven the car at least 30 miles and was hoping it would settle more.

POST 4Original post

First time i have heard of this.....it takes longer then 30 miles to settle...give it a little more

POST 5Original post

I got much more settling in my setup (RoWM030) after several tanks of gas and a hard DE event. Trust me, 30 miles ain't gonna do it!

POST 7Original post

Did mine last week and have no problem with it other than I needed to roll the rear fenders

POST 8Original post

Go find some RR tracks and jump the car. You'll need to get at least 6.7' of air to settle the car correctly. Once finished jumping, the car should ride nicely on the inner fender wells with sufficient rubbing. You will have no fender gap and the car will look really cool. Good luck and wear a helmet.

POST 9Original post

Correct-a-mundo all. You will need to ride on them for a good solid 100 miles for them to properly settle at the very least. Be patient. They will look great. cheers, Chad

POST 10Original post

yup, needs to settle... Do you have any pics of the car w/springs? It may be easier for people to evaluate your issue, if there is one

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for all the replies. if it makes any difference i bought the springs used from a fellow rennlister. do they still have to settle or does the car settle?

POST 13Original post

Couple things you could check as I just did mine about 2 months ago (but with new shocks also)...make sure that you have the spring perch facing the right way and that the springs are sitting on the perch correctly. The other thing to check is to make sure H&R sent you the correct springs for the front...it should be stamped on the side of the spring and you can check on-line to make sure they are the correct ones.... When I did mine with the new shocks, it was a consistence drop between the front and rear.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks...the numbers are correct. we did the assembly very quickly...slide off..slide on..maybe something is not seating properly. i am going to have to pull them off again and check....i might even be tempted to CUT them slightly

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ok...so i assume the springs settle and not the car?

POST 16Original post

Spikes, drive with them for a week, then see what happens.

POST 17Original post

Yup. Depending on the total miles on the used springs they may have already done their major settling. HOWEVER, let met caveat this with the fact that I am not a suspension expert and maybe one of the guys with experience here can chime in. I would assume the springs settled on the previous car and then maybe expanded slightly when removed but not significant where you would experience what you are. SUSPENSION EXPERTS care to chime in???

POST 18Original post

Yep, you still need to settle them. Either way, the metal in the spring will release it's memory when it is unloaded. Once you get it back in a loaded state, it will still need time to re-adjust. Just give it a little time. For reference, my sig photo is of my old 996 with H&R's. Looked great. Chad
