I was pretty impressed with the amount of trq on any gear and especially when it hits 4K RPM. In terms of power pretty smooth power delivery and instantaneous. Only thing is needs some tweaking of the suspension(still feels loose) and shifter feels schloshy but all can be rectified. Awesome car for a sedan though-number one in my book. Regards. Mike
Agreed. The M5 is one of, if not THE, best sedan around. It is funny how we, Porsche drivers, think the suspension is wishy washy. I have a friend with a 1998 328is manual shift that feels the M5 suspension was nice and firm. I guess opinions are based on what you currently drive or what you are coming out of....

I agree, I used to own a imola red M5. It's a great car with loads of power and torque but i didn't think that 400bhp could compensate for the fact that it's not a porsche
With an O2C2, and an M-5 in the driveway, I can truthfully say that it is a wonderful combination. Probably the best!!! You can do almost anything with these two cars. Track or street. If not in them, then I can use the Silverado for the slop!!!

Yep, same problem drove us to the 540 instead. While we're also quite interested in the 500 hp SMG version due out, it will have to be considerably less ugly than the new 7 series to get us to swap.
Hey, she wasn't happy when I told her she was gonna get the M-5. The car was fine but she didn't want to shift again. Now that she has been driving the car full time she admits that it is really easy to shift, and that issue has passed into history.
The biggest diff between the P-car and the BMV, is the ride. There is a noticeably softer ride in the M-5. That being said... when I learn how to drive the Porsche better, the M-5's torque premium will be less of an advantage. I can tell already that I'll be lots faster on the track. I will take the M-5 on any road trips, due to the better road ride.
Like I say... It's the best combination you could ask for!!!
Each of these cars is a college education for a kid , (regular schools only, not ivy league) but I don't have any kids!!!
