Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to my wife, I got some H&R springs for my car for Christmas. Put them on a couple of days ago and finally got around to washing the car and taking some pics. I used the DIY that I think everyone uses. It was a pretty simple and straightforward job. Fronts were super easy. Putting the rears back in were quite a pain. That lower bolt is a little tricky. Car feels greatvery planted. And it is the perfect height for me. Not slammed, but no more 4x4. I love this car! A couple of pics: Before shots: cr-albums-porsche-911-picture23985-img-4501.jpg cr-albums-porsche-911-picture23984-img-4503.jpg cr-albums-porsche-911-picture23986-img-4502.jpg After shots: cr-albums-porsche-911-picture23988-img-4517.jpg cr-albums-porsche-911-picture23990-img-4519.jpg cr-albums-porsche-911-picture23989-img-4518.jpg cr-albums-porsche-911-picture23991-img-4520.jpg

POST 3Original post

You know these little black air deflectors in front of each tires, I have lost 3 of 4 of them since the car is much lower as I have the same springs. Be mindful of front cement parking blocks as well as your front is now much lower. Enjoy the new handling capabilities, though!

POST 4Original post

^^ Thats not that low! You will be fine! I don't like yellow cars, however I really like it on your car. Great mod and thanks for sharing.

POST 6Original post

Looks much better, I bet it drives much better too! H&R makes some good stuff for sure!

POST 8Original post

It should lower slightly more after it settles since its only been 2 days.

POST 9Original post

Superb. I went to fit my H&R's but discovered I need new shocks. Currently saving for some Bilstein B6 and then I'll be lowering mine on H&R's too. Can't wait, yours looks superb, health to enjoy! Keith

POST 10Original post

I like the look too - any change in ride? Do you notice the difference getting in and out?

POST 11Original post

I also am running H&R Sport springs on my C2 ( pictures here... ) Easily the best $300 I've spent on my Carrera!

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the comments everyone. I've been wanting to do this for a long time and it is definitely worth it. As for the change in ride, I've had a chance to put about 30 miles on it so far. Feels good, definitely stiffer on long sweeping turns like off ramps, etc. But overall, feels good. And now I know what everyone is talking about when they say it gets rid of the "floaty" feeling on the freeway. tgt40, even though it is only like an inch or inch and a quarter lower, I definitely notice it getting in and out. And it feels like I'm sitting on the ground now! Funny, cause when you think about it, it really isn't THAT much lower. But I'm loving it. Can't wait for it to settle a little more. CR

Yup, that looks great. Agreed, this is a great mod. My Fister-style mufflers are right up there as well though.

POST 14Original post

I've used H&R springs on several of my cars and I think they're fantastic. Your new ride height looks great.

POST 15Original post

I lowered my Mini with H&Rs and it looked great, but it reduced the suspension travel to about 1/2". After that it would bottom out on the rubber bumpers and beat me to death. I'd love to lower my 996 but my previous experience has always stopped me. Have you noticed a similar outcome with yours? Any "bottoming out" on rough roads or roadway expansion strips?

POST 16Original post

Calipers painted Red now would really help the overall look
