Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Would not recommend using the universal fitments as the connectors need to be swapped.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New owner 2001 996 Carrera Cab. These are the codes. Is this the fix, or need more? http://www.suncoastparts.com/product//Frto2Sensor.html P0140 Oxygen Sensor After Catalytic Converter (cylinders 1 - 3) - Interruption of Signal P0160 Oxygen Sensor After Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Interruption of Signal P1117 Oxygen Sensor Heating 1 After Catalytic Converter - Below Lower Limit

POST 2Original post

Those codes complain about the post-cat sensor circuits on both banks. It could be the sensors themselves or it could also be wiring/connector issues. The link you provided is the pre-cat sensor. Also, the Bosch OE sensors will be much cheaper. Do you have a scanner that can read O2 sensor readings in real-time? There are also some basic testings if you have a multimeter.

POST 3Original post

Like Ahsai said, if you decide you need O2 sensors go with the Bosch OE ones. The Bosch Vehicle Part Finder will give you the part numbers. I used this site to find the part number then searched for web store with best price. Perfect fit for both the pre and post cat sensors. Would not recommend using the universal fitments as the connectors need to be swapped.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your knowledge and replies. I love this place!

POST 5Original post

I'd check fuses. When the sensors are going bad, you will generally get improbable data. It seems unlikely that both banks' post-cat sensors would fail simultaneously.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
