Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Spent an afternoon over the Memorial Day weekend installing some interior upgrades: new genuine Porsche shift **** (p/n 99642498115VRJ) and e-brake handle (996424980228YR). Bought both from ECS Tuning, each item being about $50 cheaper through them than "sale" prices I saw from other online vendors. Before: I temporarily painted over the red shift **** with some silver nail polish because I couldn't take the red ****. During: And After: Notes: Plenty of info on how to do this out there. It was easier than I anticipated. DIY on 6speedonline says you to remove driver's seat in order to get the console out, but I just ran both seats all the way back and reclined the seat backs and had no trouble. PO had installed a short shift kit, but was hard on the console. I noted that only 5 screws held the console in place, despite the DIY threads saying to expect 8 to 10. Also, of the 4 mounting bolts for the e-brake handle, one had no nut and another mounting point was broken, so only 2 points holding the old one in.

Looks great...really change the whole look of the interior.

POST 3Original post

Mounting points in that area are easy to break since the brackets are made from cast aluminum. dunno the logic on that one too.

POST 7Original post

That turned out awesome and thank you again for the support.

POST 9Original post

I was thinking about changing out my shifter and e-brake. How hard of a job was it? Thanks

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the compliments! Z3- It was actually very easy. Figure 2 hours tops, and that's taking your time.
