Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My wife is getting a 328xi in a week or two and I'm looking at the 335 to replace the '01 A4 that I'm using for work.

"Turbo lag is a thing of the past, thanks to our inspired use of two turbochargers, each supplying three cylinders with compressed air."
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just couldn't pass this Christmas present for my wife.
2007 BMW 335i Twin Turbo.
It's not Porsche, but man, it is FAST. Those turbos spool up quite nicely!!
td873 - really would like your impressions of the 335i when you get a chance - probably best to post those on the Roadfly 3 series board. My wife is getting a 328xi in a week or two and I'm looking at the 335 to replace the '01 A4 that I'm using for work. I'm going to wait for the 335xi coupe which is due out Spring '07.
Is your wife aware that she's getting the 335? I got my wife an A6 Avant in '04 as a 'gift' - when the dealer called and said 'Mrs. G, your car is in - she said, 'Ummm, WHAT CAR???" She had no input as to car/color/options, and it was like I gave her a washing machine - she was truly pissed.
Believe me, SHE picked out this 3 series herself - I did order the options though (all but nav).
Good luck with the BMW!!
td873 - nice new car! I test drove one yesterday while my BMW was in for routine oil service. VERY flat torque curve, and FAST!! May her 335 be as trouble free as my '98 528 daily driver.
The 3 series is a real problem for me. The car is fantastic, and has this great engine and driving experience, but I can't get behind those taillights, and it's just kinda chicky.
I've thought about buying one as a daily, I just don't know if I can look at it every day.
I agree with you Rick, I think BMW styling is really going downhill, off the deep end and anywhere else that it shouldn't. However, the new coupe (IMHO) is more attractive than the sedan, if you can live with just two doors on your DD. Not as nice as the E46 though...
There seems to be new stlying cues on the '07 sedan that I haven't seen before on the sedan, and I gotta say, uh,
WTF are they thinking?
But, hey, whatever, congrats to the OP and I hope your wife enjoys it! My sweetie wants a new 3 series as well, but I'm trying to convince her that maybe the Lexus or Infiniti might be a better choice.

I just read the following on the BMW website...
"Turbo lag is a thing of the past, thanks to our inspired use of two turbochargers, each supplying three cylinders with compressed air."
LOL!!! Their "inspired use"! Hmmm... I wonder where that inspiration came from.
BTW, we are also a BMW and Porsche household. Over the years I have driven an E30 (316, my first car), an E36 (316), two E46s (both 330s), two E39s (520 and 528), and currently an E53 (X5 4.4). My favorites were the E46 330s. I just can't warmup to the styling of the E90. Of the current BMW lineup only the 5-series does much to impress me, and it is the only one where they didn't completely mess up the rear-end.
