Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi gurus, I'm down to several 996's and (as you can probably tell) I'm commited to start my addiction ! One of the cars I'm interested in is arctic silver with chocolate carpet and black leather seats. I, initially, assumed it was an all black interior. I'll be checking it out on Friday. The pictures I've seen probably don't do it justice. Has anyone seen this combo and any thoughts ? Yes - it's really up to me on whether I like it or not, but resell is always a concern. Thanks, Ward

POST 2Original post

Is it really a brown carpet with black seats? Is it faded black carpet? I've never heard of that combination. There was a deviated carpet option available for the 996, but this sounds different. Porsche didn't offer a "chocolate" interior option on the 996.

POST 3Original post

When you inspect the car write down the exterior and interior color codes from the label on the underside of the front trunk (or take a photo like I did!). The label is formatted like this: Then do a quick online search to verify that the color in the car matches the factory codes. You can also verify the VIN and the factory options also.

POST 4Original post

Black seats on brown carpet sounds weird... Dennis might be right that the carpet just faded...

POST 5Original post

What color is the dash; door panels; a, b, and c pillars?

POST 6Original post

Dark brown or light? Perhaps the owner is saying brown when the actual color is tan or savannah.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the quick replies. I checked with the owner and the picture colors were washed out with a flash. It's all black. I'm test driving it tomorrow, so I'll definitely know then ! Ward
