Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, not sure if I'm in "panic" mode again OR just being extremely observant OR that I have now had the C4S for such a long time that I notice the smallest of things that I didn't see/hear/notice before? It seem like the RPM's have dropped a tiny bit from around 800 to 750/700 RPM when in idle. I noticed when driving alone for the first time a week ago (having a plastic bag on the passenger seat next to me - vibrating quite a bit more than what I thought it would do) and saw that the RPM's had dropped a fraction from about 800 to 700 when in Idle. There was no indication/feel of the engine wanting to stall and it runs homogeneous, the oil level is as it should be, temperature bang on 80degC and oil pressure between 2 and 5 depending on acceleration/speed so all seems fine. Only thing is that the aircon is not working (no cold air) and don't know if this has something to do with it but I have it set to off anyway... The idle didn't seem as smooth as it used to if it makes sense. Most people would probably not have noticed at all but I did??? Any input would be great if anyone knows what this could be (if anything)? Thanks, Frank996

So basically this means that the AC compressor has had it? I always start the engine without any electricals on (i.e. the Aircon) so it shouldn't really make a difference right?

POST 4Original post

When it happened, were the engine cooling fans running? I can feel the idle changes (drops) when the fans kick in. The vibration at idle could be deteriorating engine mounts.

No I don't think so... I'll have to bring the car to Porsche for the aircon fix and I'll ask them then to have a quick look

POST 6Original post

I would do the mounts, they are cheap and they really make a big difference. Also very easy to do.
