Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm having new pads and rotors installed all the way around and a flush with ProSpeed high-temp brake fluid to get ready for DE season.
Leading evidence: 'Install way around and a flush' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check have they lowered the price' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Most tunes were in the $1000 range last time I checked, have they lowered the price?

I'm not opposed to that, but I really don't want to change the box/housing.

I could change the intake, but I'm not sure I want to do that.

Did they dyno the car after tune or are you using the posterior dyno?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It's time for brakes for the C4S. The rear pads and rotors are shot (wear indicator light just illuminated) and the fronts are close.
I'm having new pads and rotors installed all the way around and a flush with ProSpeed high-temp brake fluid to get ready for DE season.
I'm also having an EVOMS ECU tune while it's in the shop. My expectations aren't too high for the tune, but I think it will be interesting to see if I can tell much difference. I'll report back once it's done and I have some time behind the wheel.
With no other mods the tune will be minor, it might have better throttle response. I would save your money for other mods first then take advantge of a tune.
I hear what you're saying. I like my Fister mufflers, so I'm not changing those. I could change the intake, but I'm not sure I want to do that. I'm going forward with the tune and we'll see what happens.
I might consider a drop-in, free flowing air filter like K&N. I'm not opposed to that, but I really don't want to change the box/housing.
My independent Porsche mechanic has done lots of these, and he's confident that I'll notice the difference and that I'll enjoy the tune. We'll see...
I just picked up the C4S after the brake job and the EVOMS ECU tune. My expectations for the tune were pretty low. I must say that I'm very pleasantly surprised at the improvement after the tune. The throttle response is more lively and there is a noticable increase in torque, especially under 4,000 RPM. The difference isn't as noticable at WOT, but it sure feels nice in the more usable zone for a DD at 2,500 - 4,000 RPM. I'm really glad I did it!
Drop in and Fabspeed style intake would be a great move IMO.
A tune will really clean up the midrange. Most tuners advertise peak horsepower/torque; but in the midrange there are often larger gains over stock than the peak power. Glad that you enjoy the results.
Great to hear you got it back, Dennis. Did they dyno the car after tune or are you using the posterior dyno?
Most tunes were in the $1000 range last time I checked, have they lowered the price?
I have no dyno data - only the butt dyno. It really makes a difference to me. Again, it's probably not a big increase in horsepower or torque, but it seems to have more power in the usable range for a daily driver. Prices haven't changed - tunes are still in the $1,000 range.
