Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I followed the recommendation in the 993 thread "wheel curb rash repair photos".

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking for some wheel paint advice. I followed the recommendation in the 993 thread "wheel curb rash repair photos". He used 1Z Silber Paint and matched his wheel color great.
I have the same paint, but it appears my rims are a shade or two darker than the 993's.
Has anyone tried to repaint Turbo/C4S rims with any success? If so what shade silver was best matched ?
Below is the color contrast. The light surface is the 1Z, dark is original (dont mind the messy tape job. Just for test purposes)
Thanks for the follow up. After a few tries without luck, I decided to just repaint all four rims rather than risk a mis-match. Each rim had some sort of defect and if they came out horrible I figured I can always bring them to a shop and have them professionally done.
Paint used was Duplicolor HP Wheel coating Metallic Silver HWP101
Heres a shot just after it was done, and one from a trip to VT I took today
Invius - Thanks.
They came out pretty good. The only part I am not 100% on is the clear coat. Its kind of a shiny matte finish at the moment, I may try some polish once they cure a bit longer but its hard to get a good finish out of a spray can.
That said, the matte finish is kind of unique and because the paint reflects so well its hard to tell unless you actually feel them.
Prep work was:
1- Single stage bondo to cover the larger chips/scratches
2- Sand that down with 600 grit paper
3- Scuff pad DA Orbital to prep the surface
4- Wipe off dust with rubbing alcohol and clean cloth
5- Painters tape to mask off tire (hint: do not use tire shine first)
Took about 3 coats of color and two of the clear to finish. I still have about 25% of the can left for touch ups if needed.
My 1 caveat would be not to over estimate the ability of the paint to hide imperfections. There are some very small sections I should have sanded just a tad more, but they are minute and overall these looks 10x better than when I got them.
Would recommend to anyone who has the ambition to try it
