This is not a probability of success.

I have been using an independent (ex Porsche dealer techs) garage for 20 years so took the car for a PPI to them.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi to all,
I have just purchased a 99 C4. Thanks to the information on this board I was able to navigate the pre purchase successfully. Its a high mileage car (Australia, 150kms) with good maintenance that was very well priced. I have been rebuilding an 86 944 for the last couple of years as a project, thats now mechanically completed and is off to be painted soon. This will be my 4th 911 and first water-cooled. I have been using an independent (ex Porsche dealer techs) garage for 20 years so took the car for a PPI to them. I had the usual done but also had the oil drained, sump removed to see what was going on. Turned out to be spotless. there was a small leak from the RMS and the left drive shaft seal, I was vaguely aware of the IMS/RMS issues so after a fair amount of reading decided to do the LNE IMS upgrade while the RMS and drive shaft seals were replaced. The original IMS showed no signs of wear and tear. Ive had a major service completed this week and sorted out some small issues along the way. I am installing a paddle shift kit as the button shift is not to my liking. Everything else on the car works and opens and shuts as it should. Here's a few shots, I am very happy with my purchase and am appreciating the extra creature comforts of the modern 911. Thanks again for all the information on the board. Cheers Rob
Any info on the paddle shift kit? I saw the thread and the poster seemed to be in your neck of the woods - absolutely loved the outcome.
Great looking car!
Welcome, I'm also in Brisbane and have also just bought a '01 996. I actually remember your car when I was looking, I ended up with one I found in Adelaide.
Will be interested to see share notes with you on good local independent servicing for our P-cars.
BTW, I like those paddles you found, will be keen to see them installed.
Cheers guys
Morganabowen the interior is dark blue, this car was the color/wheel combo I like best, big part of why I bought it, also it was 15mins away from me which is rare.
Cheers
Rob
