I think they do - I have them adjusted right in and to me they are still a bit "out there"!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, The previous owner of my 996 fitted 3.6l exhaust tips to it and with the shape of the 3.4l bumper they stick out too far. I am trying to source some original tips for it but cannot decipher the part number in the catalog. My car is a MY9601-66X. Pos Part Number Name Remarks 21 A 996 111 251 54 Tail pipe -00 21 996 111 251 55 Tail pipe 01 27 A 996 111 252 54 Tail pipe -00 27 996 111 252 55 Tail pipe 01 I am trying to work out which of this I need but I don't know what these mean:- Not sure why the part number is prefixed with "A" What does "-00" or "01" mean in the Remarks column? Thanks for your help.

POST 2Original post

I can't help with the part # . But do they still stick out too much after you adjusted the tips in? The stainless "cover" is adjustable about 3/4 - 1"

POST 3Original post

You need 996-111-251-55 & 996-111-252-55 for your 3.4L. A means the part is superseded to a newer part number, for example 996-111-252-54 is superseded to 55. -00 means "up to 2000 model" Cheers!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
