Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

all, i purchased the cointray to replace the ashtray. just wanted to confirm to remove the ashtray that it has 2 clips on the passengers side and basically pulls out with some force.

POST 2Original post

A photographer I am not, but maybe these will help. There are metal spring release type tabs on the ends and a single plastic snap midway down the side next to the passenger. I did the same upgrade a couple of months ago and it is really simple. Once you remove the 2 retaining screws from the bottom, it practically pops out.

POST 3Original post

This forum's amazing. I've just ordered the replacement parts and was probably going to ask exactly the same question when the bits arrived! Just to clarify ... the retaining screws are holding the ashtray to the trim? Thanks guys!

POST 4Original post

Quotes source post: 9185495

The screws are more securing it in position inside the trim than attaching it to the trim.
