Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello folks..., I would like to know if there is a real advantage to replace the original 180 degree thermostat by the not original 160 degrees.. Thanks Robert

POST 3Original post

Go to the LN website and read their explanation. For the price its a no brainer if you live in warm climates. They even suggest a small increase in power due to the cooler operating temps. Not sure if you can search if your not a member? or can you?

POST 4Original post

You can also get it from Hartech in the UK (Google their site). 60 quid + carriage (shipping that is). Make sure you get the gasket as well. 5 quid. I'm in the process of buying one from Hartech right now.

POST 5Original post

I was thinking of doing this as well. Seems like a no brainer especially down here in during the Miami summers I was also planning on doing the water pump this year should help and certainly could not hurt. Why would you need to buy the housing? 160F Low Temperature Thermostat & Genuine Porsche Housing inc. gasket.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You can buy a 160 degrees thermostat housing and gasket made by Whaler at Pelican parts for only $70.00 ea or a LN Engineering thermostat at $171.00. Bye bye Robert
