Can you elaborate on the 'shop had to rewire the plug so it could use the Bose amp" I have the Bose system and want to keep the amp and speakers and just swap out the head unit.

I finally got around to posting some pics of my 1st mods. Nothing major but improved the driving experience. 1st I removed the old deck and popped in a new Kenwood with Ipod and Bluetooth (it's a nasty ticket in WA to not have it) Deck sound awesome with the current Bose speakers and Amp. I had to spend a few extra $$ to get one that had custom colors, it drives me nuts when the dash colors don't match. 2nd had a hardwired passport 9500ix (loving the GPS) installed and has saved me twice. It's and 2002 and not MOSFT. I had it installed, the shop had to rewire the plug so it could use the BOSE AMP.

To save you some time while waiting for a response Crutchfield.com sell kits so you don't have to worry about what to rewire. Those kits typically cost $19, fyi.
