I used the Blendmount mount to mount to rearview mirror - a little expensive, but you can't beat the looks imho.

Same basic location, but probably a little bit lower on the windscreen.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anybody know which pins are used for the 12V pos/neg in the 4 pin connector on a Passport? I know it's the second and third pin for a V1, but not sure about the Passport. Thr probes on my voltimeter are too fat to fit into the slots on the connector so I can't test it myself.

POST 2Original post

tape pins to the ends of your existing multimeter. those should fit into connector slots.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Doh! I was sitting here wondering how I could rig something.

POST 4Original post

where are you going to mount it? i put mine (not 9500ix) up by the passenger visor. wired it to power in the center console so it switches on with the key. works well.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Same basic location, but probably a little bit lower on the windscreen. It's GPS enabled so if I tuck it up too far, it won't pick up the GPS signal.

POST 6Original post

would you please post photos of your installation? i would like to upgrade if possible. good luck.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will do. It may be next weekend. Down at the bay house for a few days of fishing and didn't get it done before I left.

POST 8Original post

Search is your friend. Either I posted a DIY a few years back or I tagged onto someone else's. But there is a write up with pics on here somewhere.

POST 9Original post

I've got mine mounted between the dome light and the passenger visor. I have no issue with GPS reception. I don't love the look of the suction cup mount, but haven't found anything better yet.

That mount looks pretty cool. I might consider it when my recently ordered 9500ix comes in. I ordered the friction mount/beanbag mount - I am not a fan of the suction cups - they usually fall off and your hardware takes a tumble. I will see how I like this setup first, and will consider that blendmount - thanks for the link!

POST 12Original post

Is the blendmount specific to the Passport? Oh wait, no it is not....Separate mount for the V1. Nice. And while we're at it, Passport vs. V1, anyone?
