I would love a copy, being on the hunt for my first Porsche, I have learned plenty from this site but have only scratched the surface. It would provide me a great reference book and lots of info I never thought about.

I have been a Rennlist member since April and with the advice here I was able to make an educated purchase saving myself time, money and disappointment. As many on this forum, I dreamed about my own Porsche for a long time. Now I am one of the lucky few in this world who can proudly say I am a Porsche owner. Even my kids tell everyone, "My Dad drives a Porsche" , even the two year old!! I would love to learn the origins of Porsche and how this success story came about and how it keeps getting stronger by the day. One day I hope to pass the car and my passion to my children. There are many members on here that probably deserve this book more than me since they have provided invaluable knowledge to newbies like me and I am sure it will go to a deserving member. I only wish to be one of the four that receives this gift.

Joined RL when I got bit by the bug in 2007 but could not make it happen due to other priorities (kids going to college, house payments, etc and a 13-month gig in Iraq). Finally in a position to make this dream come true so a book like this for a Pcar noob/virigin like me would be a most fitting initiaition into the "club". Most (if not all) of what little I know now about the 911 is due in part to the wealth of knowldege that I have been soaking up (nonstop) from Rennlist so getting a book like this from RL will be icing on the cake.

I have only been a Porsche owner for the past year and a bit and I would like to learn more about the history of the 911. I have owned many fine cars over the years but my 996 is by far the most fun, enjoyable car I have ever driven. The 911 is an engaging, driver's car. The feeling of connectedness, that the car is an extension of you, is something I never experienced before. I have learned a lot on this forum in the past year and typically check for updates several times a day, on my desktop, laptop, iPhone and iPad. I need my Rennlist fix. I don't have a lot of fancy reasons but it would make a great read while I am recovering from hip replacement surgery following a service related injury. I own a handful of Porsche books which I read thoroughly before buying my current C4S and I am an avid car guy since my early teens and fascinated by everything mechanical. Whenever I get a new car I tend to read everything I can including service manuals. Plus, this would make a great addition to my library!! Cheers, Tom

My younger brother, who has hit a real rough patch as of late, has loved Porsche's for as long as I can remember. He had a poster of a beautiful 911 on his wall while all I had was aircraft on mine. His passion would eventually spill over into my own. Without him - I might have missed these wonderful cars once I could afford one. He would never spend his money on such a luxury, but would appreciate it more than most. While I can and will certainly get one of my own - I would love to have gotten one for him.

Books like this are a valuable part of Porsche ownership. It is not just a "car" - it is the passion of a family to create something of lasting value that satisfies our desire to truly drive the beautiful roads around us. I love reading books like this to remind me of that passion, that family of creative engineering genius, and the history of challenge and triumph over these 60 some years of Porsche. I have most other author's books on the history of Porsche and or specific models in the line, but have not read a book from Liffingwell. His articles in Excellence - often about great Porsche's and drivers - are are great part of that first rate magazine. So yes - I would like to win this book... and pass it on to my Grandson, to keep the passion going.

I have loved Porsches from the time I was 6 years old and someone bought me a Revell type plastic model of a Carrera. You know how the cover art never matches what your model ends up looking like - I loved the way the car looked on the model's box and became a Porsche lover at an early age. I would like to have a copy of the book to read on the train during my daily communute to Boston - great books make the hour trip seem to go by in 5 minutes. Thanks!

Muhahahaha. Some people will be working overtime after today's delivery. Seriously, this is a great book. I've worked in book publishing for years, and this is a first rate publication. Content, binding, paper, full color pics on most pages, everything. A real plus to add to your library. It is the coffee table edition of Porsche 911s, and will have a revered place on my display case (when not traveling to exotic locations.) I have no idea how the publisher can make a dime with production cost vs. sales price. Now back to my plans for world domination.
