Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also have a B6 S4 Avant that I use to run around in.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
After spending a bit of time shopping for a 964/993, I had an "ooh, shiny!" moment this past weekend and ended up bringing home an '02 C4S instead.
The car has higher mileage for a Porsche (90k miles), but it came with a huge stack of maintenance receipts and everything checked out just fine when inspecting it; also the price was too good to pass up and I'm confident in these cars ability to do 200+k no problem if you take proper care of them.
The car is already fairly well sorted with Bilstein PSS10s, spherical ball joints, B&M short shifter and an unidentified exhaust (I think it's Fister).
I come from a VW/Audi background, so I'm no stranger to high maintenance vehicles.
The 911 is replacing my '01 S4 Avant:
So far, this forum has been invaluable to me for acquiring a lot of information about these cars so I could make an educated purchase decision. And strangely enough, my insurance premium went
down
compared to the Audi. Go figure!
Interior is all black and nearly mint. A few small scratches on the center console and some wear on the radio buttons, but that's about it!
A friend of mine also has a C4S, but he has the all-red interior in his and we may swap a few bits of our interiors to add some contrast. Not 100% on thatidea yet though.
I missed it until I drove the 911 home.
(I still have my '00 Passat wagon for utilitarian/daily driving duties, however it doesn't have the ~350 horsepower that the S4 had).
hpuck- I see you also owned a 60' Bug-Eye sprite. I bought one in 1966 and sold it in 1994/5 when I bought a 79'SC Porsche. One of the best cars I have ever owned or driven.
My first question for everyone:
Can anyone identify these coilovers? I thought the car had Bilstein's on it, but when I took a wheel off today I realized the springs are a purple-ish color rather than blue.
The upper mounts are anodized gold, which makes me think Ground Control, but the purple springs and red/blue perches confuse me.
Any ideas?
A ha! As soon as I posted that question, I managed to figure it out.
They're JIC coilovers.
Not sure how their reputation is in the Porsche world, but they have a good name with the JDM crowd.
No ideas on the coilovers but those wheels on the Avant are my faves. They look like the RUFs or are they a knock off? The RUF site is weak. Where did you get them?
Not the DABs. My friend Greg bought the infamous battleship gray C4S from Brian at Rotiform, so I don't want to have the same wheels as him in the same city!
I'm torn between the SJC, TMB and IND. I will be doing 19x9.5 front and 19x11.5 rear.
SJC
TMB
IND
Thoughts?
I know Brian and the guys pretty well. I put on
www.southernworthersee.com
every year. They are a show sponsor. If I had to choose between those three it would have to be the SJC. However I LOVE the new wheel they did for RWB. But I would want chrome lip and brushed face.
Congrats and welcome ! Another C4S
You will see that these cars if properly maintained can go for miles!
Very nice Avant indeed. I am Audi guy as well and miss my B6 Avant
Looks like you found a real bargain. Welcome to your new obsession. LOL. On the wheels go with the TMB, but lose the chrome lips. It keeps the original flavor of the twists, with a more agressive, modern look.
The other two choices look good, but would be a PITA to clean. I'd rather spend two hours it would take to properly clean them driving the car and getting them dirty again.
Picked up a set of Fabspeed muffler bypasses today. It's hard to tell just how loud they are on the YouTube videos, so I guess I'll just have to install them and see how it goes.
A bit late, but welcome, enjoy the new ride and you will come to love the "encouragement" that you get in here when you ask various questions about this ad that...gret bunch of Pcar owners in here happy to help.........take her out and drive her like she was meant to be driven!
