Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So after 18 months of ownership, I've had my first real problems with the C4S. On my way into work, it started idling pretty roughly and a few minutes later threw a CEL warning and told me to drive to the dealer.
The dealer has had a for a 2 days and the codes that were thrown indicated multiple misfires on the left bank of cylinders. They've had a look and have not yet found the cause and the next step is for them to run a compression test.
Anyone have any faint clues as what it could be? Luckily the car is under CPO warranty and hence not to worried about the cost!
Also the dealer was pretty good and has me in an '10 Cayman S loaner. I must say that they Cayman has impressed me quite a bit especially in the Sport Plus mode!
coil(s), lifter(s), cam timing, intake leak, coolant in cumbustion chamber, broken valve spring(s)
CPO = dont sweat it....drive the rental car, what did they give you
My guess would also be a bad coil pack, especially if it was raining when your car threw its CEL. (It does rain in BC, right?
). The water causes the bad pack to start arcing, causing the misfire.
I had this happen on my '02 Cab...intermittent CEL, codes showed various misfire issues. Subsequent plug change/coil pack inspection showed only one cracked coil pack which I changed out. Since then (3 months and 2500 miles), no CELs and much joy.
Good luck.
The PO of my car had issues with coil packs and arcing. Only one coil pack and plug were replaced, which solved the problem. Lucky you have the CPO. Who know what of a multitude of things it could be. Good luck.
Electrical, ignition related, most like coil pack as that's the most common. The best news is that there was no unusual mechanical noises, no smoke or steam coming out the exhaust and no oil dripping from under the car.
It is perplexing the dealer couldn't determin this within a few minutes. I hope I'm right.
Odd indeed that the dealer is perplexed, perhaps they were stalling for their service dept.
