This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I read an interesting article in this weeks Automotive news about Audi planing to build a car to compete directly with the 911. Here is a link to the article for those interested. http://thalist.com/audi.pdf

POST 2Original post

Bill, In a related story, wait and see the coupe version of the Boxster Porsche is building to compete with the Audi TT.

POST 3Original post

The name "Audi" has a connotation to it that is entirely different than the connotation that "Porsche" has If I was running VW I would call it an "Auto Union" something or other...maybe an AU PanAmerica . After all it will be a "composite-type" car and would create a different perspective of the new car. But that's just me. I got a "C" in marketing in college!

POST 5Original post

Please let it be a somewhat lightweight car, say less then 3100 pounds rather then the porkers Audi usually produces.... Also, please Porsche, let the new GT3 be the direction you take with the 911, not a direction toward longer, wider, heavier, more powerful, and more luxurious.... Jim

POST 6Original post

I think that the only vehicle that has a possibility of competing for my dollars with Porsche is the new Aston Martin that's coming out in '05. Low production numbers, beautiful lines and a fair amount of horsepower could make it a winner. My only concern would be the possibility of finding Ford switches and dials in the car.
