Here's another photo - the exhaust clamps have been moved around since this photo so it's clean looking now.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Here's my little red C4 for sale. 58K original and unmodded miles. Engine replaced 2+ years ago with Porsche reman - all receipts. Tip/Sunroof, factory Litronics, power windows, rear window wiper and that's about it for options, sides are clear now. Never been hit or painted, paint is really nice, I'm just a stickler for details. Also needs a power brake booster unit. Why? Because the PO allowed water to stand in the brake booster housing box and the booster rusted inside. Brakes works great, just a soft pedal. A/C works great. Interior is perfect. The only thing does NOT work is the gas gage - I have never taken it in for that. Runs and rides terrific, not sure I 'really' want to sell it, but I never drive it. You can schedule the car for a PPI at any of the many local Porsche repair facilities! Asking $21.9, can send more photos upon request. Email at:

reduced after one day?
if we wait a week think how cheap it will be
seriously your chances of selling it here are a little low, consider an autotrader ad, sell Ahmet's recent Q's RE: why isnt my car selling
best of luck, I recall when you got it, still think its a beauty and love the wheels!
$1500 roughly to fix brake booster with Porsche parts and qualified mech, don't know about gas gage, never had it looked at. I have a new fuel gage sending unit that I got from Sunset last year, but I decided that I am not qualified to mess around in a gas tank
Yes - cassette - olde school indeed.

I forgot to mention that the pumpkin lights are gone...
No - but this little joker (txhokie4life) sent me a PM trying to buy it fast with funny-facts - I think he's going home from juvenile detention somewhere
What was the original failure mode on the engine?
Did it get an upgraded IMS?

Considering the market for 99's has cratered,
needing the fuel gauge and the brake booster
taken care of I think you are asking too much for it.
I can offer you $15k cash for it.
I have family in Northern Virginia -- give me a good
excuse to make a Christmas visit.
You can't blame someone for lowballing you, on the otherhand, there is a time to reject any offers that make you want to hold onto the Porsche. I would think a fresh engine is a huge plus as long as the buyer wants a Tip. GL
its like not liking your job till you go on a few interviews and get low ***** job offers at some crappy dead end company with a pencil neck geek for a boss!!
you come to work the next day very thankful!
I don't mind being lo-balled, sort of expect it really. I think it's funny that the kid spent some time trying to gin up that ****-mamie story of it's value. I think he was serious and that's the hilarious part.
Hear ya' - right now I'm happy to have any kind of work.
It's going to be a soft market no matter what the price until after the holidays. Unless you are willing to dump the price....
Me? I'm still thinking about adding RS mounts and racing mine. I'm somewhat trying to sell mine but at the same time I'm bidding on a 67 911 roller instead of selling and buying something else as a substitute. I mean really, you buy one more and race the other, it can't be THAT much more expensive? Right?

winter is always the hardest time to sell cars like ours... best is spring or early summer... tell the guy who offered 15k to go buy a s2000 or 350z...
LOL! I think the reman engines are close to 15K now...my car is pristine. Nobody work or paint work, all original too. No mods except for front side markers upgraded to clear. People always oogle over it when I show it, but it sits in the garage - can't drive to work and I drive my SUV or C3 vette to the club on weekends. It's really kind of a 'dress car' for me.
I tried to get my wife to get this as her d/d since her Subaru was hit several weeks ago but she wanted another mid suv..... That's why I didn't call for more info... I would however fix the booster and anything else at issue.... Although they are easy to explain it opens the door to picking out things and a buyer creating a longer list than is "real"...
Same one - ! It had a partial blockage in one of the coolant lines which was restricting the coolant flow at idle causing the temp to slowly creep up during extended idle periods. The local Porsche Dealer - Arlington Porsche - did NOT want to troubleshoot it for me. All they wanted to do was take my car in trade and sell me another car. I had it sent to Jakes directly from the Porsche dealer. Jake insisted that it had more extreme issues and I had it sent back. The car was troubleshot and repaired locally by Ray at Auto Sport Group (ASG).
