It's an extra engine (including ALL accessories) w/a broken cylinder, which is the only part that couldn't be re-used w/out any work (the case halves).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got lots of MK2 engine pieces left over from an engine that had a broken cylinder, any suggestions on what to do w/the parts? I do have everything from the power steering pump to the case, everything... I thought about having the cylinders replaced in the case, as it had very low documented miles and is in outstanding shape, but it's cost prohibitive and I'd want to run it in a chassis before selling it, but that seems like more hassle than I want at the moment.

POST 2Original post

part it out, or sell it to one of the Engine rebuilder here as Core

POST 4Original post

Hi Ahmet, how about listing the accessories and parts? It may spark interest once people see what you got..

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have everything down to every single plug, nut and bolt, literally. It's an extra engine (including ALL accessories) w/a broken cylinder, which is the only part that couldn't be re-used w/out any work (the case halves). A title like "what to do with extra engine that has cracked cylinders" probably would've been more descriptive. I did think about building a 3.8 or even 4.0 out of it, as it is the more desirable and longer throw crank with the bigger case of the M96 line up, but I don't know what I would do w/that motor either. I certainly wouldn't want to sell a hot rod motor w/out running it in a car first and that'd be a lot of work... It's a shame because everything is in such good shape. Anyway, I thought about the table thing, and I may do that w/the bottom end if there's not any real interest in the stuff, the case and the bottom end do look good. It'd be one heavy coffee table though!

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I don't know if I'll sell it whole or parts. PM me if you're interested in anything. If I end up parting it, there may be a coffee table in my future yet!

POST 12Original post

We buy cores.. But I use so little of the major components through the upgrade processes that we can't give a lot for them.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I've had a lot of people contact me but no offers yet. Feel free to shoot me a PM with an offer on any or all parts you may need. Thanks.

POST 14Original post

do you have an extra throttle body with the clamp on the body? I think the 3.4 shares the same as the 3.6... no?
