You might want to check the side windows to see if the seal at the top (roof line) has been breached.

I tried to test the roof seals and spotted nothing.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After leaving it out in the rain (hey its England after all) I discovered the rear passenger side footwell and the rear seat extremely wet. There are no signs of where the water is coming in and no obvious other wet areas. I tried to test the roof seals and spotted nothing. Has anyone any thoughts as to where to look or had a similar experience with a Traga. Mine is a 2002 facelift model.
Thanks
David
David,
I've watched the posts relative to 996 Targas pretty closely, and over the last three years, I can't say I've heard anyone report a roof leak before you (they were known to occur in the 993 Targas apparently). I have about 22K miles on mine, and I've not had any leaks despite driving in the rain from time to time.
Sounds like you had a signicant water intrusion episode. I think you're going to be best off having a good Porsche service department give it a once over. Please let us know if they find anything.

You might want to check the side windows to see if the seal at the top (roof line) has been breached. I heard about a year ago that a couple of Cabs were leaking because of an ill fitting sail window. I know there is a world of difference between the two...but its just a thought.
Thanks for the replies, I didnt think that a leak would be common in the 996 Targa and you guys have confirmed this to be the case. Having dried everything out I am going to monitor for a couple of weeks to see if the water returns and then take to the OPC as suggested.
Thanks again
David
