Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

35 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T152433Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Honestly I thought I'd never get to be one of the guys posting a thread like this. After years of lust, I finally decided that I was going to drive a 911 and no one could change my mind. I found one slightly higher than my budget but it was well worth it. Picked up a 2003 C4S with PSE in Houston with 29k miles and I have been unable to wipe the **** eating grin off of my face from the time I wake up until I go to bed for the last 3 days The exhaust note of the PSE is so incredible I've never heard anything like it! I've never been so satisfied with a vehicle purchase. I have always had buyers remorse buying cars, even cars I liked. Not this time. Not one single bit! Sorry I'm rambling...every time I get out of the car I feel like I just had 5 cups of coffee. I'll post better pics at some point but it is stock so it isn't anything you guys haven't seen before. Yes I know the pumpkins have to go! https://picasaweb.google.com/1115735...at=directlink# -jd

POST 3Original post

looks great; love it! congrats on your purchase.

POST 4Original post

Good looking car. Congratulations. (now go peek at it again just to remind yourself that it's yours.)

POST 5Original post

Congratulations. Looks like a nice car. The other malady that you will develop, besides the continuous grin on your face, is the necessity to always walk backwards after you have parked the car. I've had mine for 4 months or so, and I still walk backwards half way to my destination. It, of course, requires a longer walk because I park it so far away from wherever I am going. ENJOY!!! larry

POST 6Original post

Welcome to the asylum where it's good to be crazy. Great looking car! What other options do you have other than PSE (probably the best option IMO) and the Technos (another great option)? I'm am option *****. There's nothing that depresses me like opening the trunk lid ona 996 and not finding any Xs on the option code list. The frist car I looked at was a Arena red 99 coupe "wit nothin" I passed.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I used that VIN decoder online. It seems pretty accurate. Another C4S! I am REALLY starting to consider selling my C2 for a C4S Congrats and enjoy, great find!

POST 9Original post

Welcome to rennlist, nice looking Porsche, looks very clean and low miles to boot. Driving a Porsche should make you smile everytime.

POST 10Original post

As someone else put it when I posted my welcome message, "Welcome to the C4S brotherhood!" I still have the pumpkins on my car. One of these days I'll do it. PSE is a great option -- it sold me on the car. Since I plan on driving mine in the winter I'm going to like the heated seats, but the other 8 months it doesn't mean anything (and depends on where you live). I wouldn't mind an aerokit, X-51, or X-73 option, but I think I'm going to leave it alone and put my money in an account marked "GT3" instead. The C4S is great for now serving DD duty, especially while all three kids still fit in it.

POST 11Original post

Litronics, PSE and sport seats are my three top personal favorite options. Enjoy the car!

Looks like your car came with different wheels than the Technos it currently wears.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the warm welcome! I thought I was a porsche nut before...now I'm hooked for life. re: the color, I know but I just couldnt pass this one up! I was looking for white gray silver or yellow.

POST 18Original post

Looks good. 6 weeks into my first 911 all I can tell you is that the grin just keeps getting bigger as you learn what the car will do.

POST 19Original post

Forgive my lack of knowledge on porsche slang, but what the hell are "pumpkins."

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

from my short time here, i gather it is the amber side markers. Once I noticed them I can't NOT see them. I have to change them very soon.

POST 21Original post

nice car, rare wheel type, you will enjoy it I am sure.

yup - thats it! and I agree Welcome, its really clean looking... time to read how to do everything from start it, to drive it to take care of it.... you'll be busy between that and the sore cheeks from all the grinning

I had to ask the same thing. I need to change my avatar, but that was the first thing I did. About $25 from PelicanParts.com and it takes about 5 minutes to change them. 4 minutes of that was being really careful with the first one so as not to break anything. Just grab it at the fender opening and pull straight out.

POST 25Original post

Congratulations and welcome. I think you may have beat me to that C4S! I'm jealous, she looks nice.

He has another one there but it is a 2005 996. Really sweet car but quite a bit more $$. Robert was absolutely fantastic to deal with!

POST 29Original post

Nice car! Welcome. I've had my C4S for a year now and still feel like you described.

POST 30Original post

Congrats and welcome! Nice car. Now I need to go drive it.

POST 31Original post

I love my 4S -- have had many chances to sell it to "upgrade" but just could not get rid of it. Very fun on the track - something you simply must do (right after Rennlist, and PCA membership.) Welcome!

POST 32Original post

Mine's currently a daily driver but it's still a joy to listen to it every morning when I fire it up. It's even better on the way home as I park in a covered parking garage and the PSE sounds great!

Luckily, that car not only looks great, but is very fast. Just point it towards the nearest bathroom and mash the gas pedal!

POST 35Original post

Very nice I have had my 4s with many of the same options for about 2 years now. I bought it as a toy, but fell in love with it and quickly made it my DD. I still have that same **** eating grin on my face any time I turn the key. Am getting the PSE exhaust done this week hopefully and will probably fall in love with it all over again.
