Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The fix I use is to turn the head unit off, turn the car off, exit the car and use the remote to lock it then unlock the car, get back in, start the car and finally turn on the head unit.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Usually I just turn the radio on and the PORSCHE screen comes up for a few seconds and then it goes to to the station I preset, no problem. The other day I played with a couple of the buttons and pushed out one of the CD trays, the radio continued to play but now it doesn't. I don't think this is related since I believe it played after my aforementioned button experimenting. This morning I push the dial to turn it on and it just remains at the PORSCHE screen, I turn up the volume and try other pushing and holding button combinations ... nada

POST 2Original post

Have you tried to enter the 4 digit radio code? Maybe with the buttons you were pushing you ended up locking it up?

POST 3Original post

I have heard that turning the car on and off can help. Sometimes, alternating pressing the CD button, then the FM button can get it going again. Mine used to do it more often until I started shutting off the radio before I turned off the car. If I do that, it almost never happens. Almost seemed like the power cycle confused the communication between the radio & the amp.

POST 4Original post

Mine also does this every now and then. The fix I use is to turn the head unit off, turn the car off, exit the car and use the remote to lock it then unlock the car, get back in, start the car and finally turn on the head unit. Works every time. (I also know a great cure for hiccups)

POST 5Original post

Mine did that once when the CD door wasn't closed properly. Have you tried opening and closing it?

POST 6Original post

TAKE OUT RADIO FUSE IN THE FUSE BOX FOR ABOUT 10 SEC THAT WILL RESET IT

POST 7Original post

To re-boot the system I have to pull both radio fuses D8 & 9 on my 03 cab

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I turned the car on Turned the radio on Turned the radio off Turned the car back off Remembered to turn the radio off before turning the car off going forward No recurrences since Thanks for all the help

POST 9Original post

it happens to me every once in a while, have to turn car off , lock it, count to ten , get back in and all is good.
