Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I took mine off recently to clean the rads and it just took some careful jiggling.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As some of you know, I've had some coolant leak issues...the dealer finally fixed them all. unfortunately, I've found some damage on my front fender/bumper.
I've posted a pic and some more details on Renntech....along with a poll.
http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...-or-rock-chip/
I'd like to get some feedback from anyone/everyone. To me, it looks like tool damage from removing the bumper. The Dealer says it's just a rock chip.
anyone?
sean
Ahh man that's such BS cause that's only going to get bigger.
Maybe someone that did the rad cleaning could chime in here in regards to if there is a clip or something in that specific spot???
There is no way that is a rock chip. I don't know why they would had to pry off the bumper. I took mine off recently to clean the rads and it just took some careful jiggling.
They need to pay up.
Not a rock chip. Someone didn't know how to remove the bumper cover and tried to pry it away from the body before discovering the screw that comes in from inside the side marker lamp opening.
The dealer/service department owes you reasonable degree of skill and care and experience in servicing your vehicle. From the presence of this damage damage you did not receive that. This constitutes consumer fraud.
I do know how hard you want to push this but you might try this tact and see if the dealer agrees to have that fixed.
Consult with your area's consumer fraud division to see what it takes in the way to build a case.
Take the car by a reputable body shop that specializes in these cars but does *not* have any business relationship with the dealer or any of the other dealerships that almos might be owned by the company/family that owns the Porsche dealership.
From this body shop get something in writing that indicates the damage is not a rock chip but pry damage along with an estimate to make it right again.
Then confront the dealership in a calm but forceful manner with this info with the consumer fraud thing as a backup.
Sincerely,
Macster.
Is that rust? how long did they have it?.... why did that paint crumble like that. Prying with a screw driver should not chip paint like that unless the paint/primer is not bonded to the metal. Is that area a repaint? Have this car been to an accident?.... It def is chipped by prying, but why that big/type of a chip is the other puzzle.... just sayin.
I have no idea if the dealer did it.. But thats no rock chip.
Well thats what we have insurance for. Did you call them? Many times we over look the abvious solution.
You hired them to fix the car, A car never goes back together exactly the way it came apart. The car got damaged in the repair MAYBE. You are in a he said/ she said. Turn it over to insurance and let them battle it out with the dealer.
Save yoru self the mental frustration of it all. Trust me.. Many bigger fish to fry in this world.
I dont know. But is the dealers employees really going to do anything but coveer their asses? - NO
He needs to bypass all the people trying to cover their *** and go right to the GM or the dealer himself.
State his case, show him the damage and what he feels happened and see if the dealer is an upstanding guy. Right now everyone is playing CYA. and he is doing nothing but getting upset.
Im not a Donald Trump fan. But he did make a comment that I did like a while ago. It was something about going right to the top. And I agree, if you are not dealing with the guy who has the power to write a check, you may as well be talking to a wall
Rust..? Def not rust!
The bumper is not metal... but the fender is.
The chip looks like a "normal" pry chip to me.
Lucky the OP's car is silver and a repaint will look fine as opposed my my 2003 old blue. It would not match at all and there would be a HUGE problem!
Sorry, you may not like this reply, but
Your car was at the deaer in Jan and 3 weeks ago, and you just noticed this Saturday.
At this point it doesn't matter what it is. Get some touch up paint and cover it.
When and if ever you want to make the front of your car look nice and get the chips, scratches, and cracks fixed, tell the body shop to fix that spot too.
