keep in mind that flatness is not that important on thin spacers, they will conform once tightened - those would be nice spacer IMO - plenty good

Suggestion · Original poster

I know about the spacers, I am testing out the fit, so I know what spacers I need for front and rear wheels, then order the correct size lugs for all wheels, but from my research, when you add spacers, then you cannot use a locking lug since the original is only 45mm long.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a chance to buy some wheels, will these fit my 2002 C2? Add says: 18" Porsche wheels in mint condition. Sizes are (2) 18x8.5(52mm offset) and (2) 18x10(58mm offset). Center caps included. They should fit on a variety of Porsches( 997/boxster/968) Thanks

POST 3Original post

Porsche recommended wheel fitment for 996 C2 is 50 or 52mm offset up front, and 65mm offset in the rear. The wheel sizes are fine, it's the rear offset to be concerned with.

POST 4Original post

They are fine. I run a set of 18 x 10" et 58 in the rear with no issues.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Opinions? Thanks I wanted to stay with stock tire size for the 18's http://www.flickr.com/photos/scubadawg911/5155908216/http://www.flickr.com/photos/scubadawg911/5155908216/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/scubadawg911/, on Flickr

POST 9Original post

they will fit nicely, even with 265 tires. The rear offset is like running 7mm spacer with the stock 65mm offset.... The rears will look something like this. Only thing is, Im running 285 tires.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I bought them, don't don't fit, the inside curve hits the caliper The person who sold them to me, said they came off a 997 C2, surprised that caliper would be different, oh well, time to try to sell them now.

POST 11Original post

Are they hitting the calipers on all four? Front? Rear? Could you use some spacers? I know my aftermarket wheels are really close to the calipers but don't hit them. They are good looking wheels.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just tried the front, didn't try the rear, I knew I might need rear spacers to bring them out a bit, but didn't think I needed front spacers, plus the Porsche locking lug does not fit, so I would need a new wheel lock, I bring them to my Porsche mechanic friend as get hit opinion. I do like the wheels, weighed the rear wheel 27.5 pounds, about 5 pounds heavier the my light weight c2 wheel

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My Porsche machanic called me tonight, I bringing the car over tomorrow, with 1 front and 1 rear wheel, he has a bunch of spacers that we are going to try to fit out what size I will need, as far as the lugs are concerned they do fit, but the locking one, you cannot fit the key into the hole.

POST 15Original post

dont worry, if you add spacers the bolts will still be long enouogh as long as you dont mind your wheels falling off you MUST add the same amount to the bolt as you add in spacer thickness Locks only have about 30 keys, your dealer can tell you the key number if you take the locks in.. but for $50 for the key its cheaper to find another set with the key OR contact the seller and tell him there is a problem, maybe he has the other key ?? I really like you

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got the car on the hoist today, My rear wheels do not hit the calipers, and the front wheels, will only need a 3mm spacer, it just rubs the caliper, 5mm brings it out too far. Who makes a good quality 3mm spacer? Thanks

POST 20Original post

3mm? sheet metal is very flat right out of the gate.... all you have to do is pick up some 9 gage aluminum (0.1144 or 2.91 mm) or some 11 gage steel (0.1196 or 3.04mm) and hack a circle and a hole. The wheel will still be concentric on the stock hub.... if you cant find anything lemme know and I will knock 2 of them out on the CNC for ya and send them to you for nothin

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I found a couple of suppliers FVD, and another off ebay, price is around 30-40 each, plus shipping, I would gladly pay for them, don't expect them for free, it just rubs, couldn't find 2mm, only found 3mm http://cgi.ebay.ca/New-Porsche-3mm-W...item439f6bfebc How good is Machined and surfaced from 2024 alloy ?

POST 22Original post

I highly doubt they machined the thickness, its stock from sheet (or blanchard ground in large sections) it will be pretty parallel- pretty darn parallel... keep in mind that flatness is not that important on thin spacers, they will conform once tightened - those would be nice spacer IMO - plenty good
