Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You also have the benefit of using the heater or A/C with the roof back, and the warmed/cooled air just stays in the cockpit.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

so aside from it being a cool pic and us all getting dinner at Ruth's Chris thanks to your account info being posted....
I am left guessing to the original question
is it that you like trees?
really cool pic, I love the targas too -
Actually, himself, I can't click twice on the picture for that info, 'cause the government computer network in Iraq blocks flickr... :-( So, someone care to copy and past the EXIF data for that photo for me? Thanks. :-)
i still miss my '98 targa. the '04 C4S is nice but not as open feeling. i never had any problems with mine as far as leakage, wind noise, etc.. have you? the huge advantage over the cab is that it always feels open, even with the air on and 99 degrees out, or in the rain.

The rattles can be fixed but it's a lot of work for the owner and as my local "stealer" has proved to me they do not even begin to know how to do the work.
It is shame on Porsche for not getting it right and not fixing a "design" problem.
Oh well I suppose we should be ok with that after other "design issues" that cause thousands of dollars not being fixed at no cost to the consumer (woops double neg).
My Targa is a great car and the rear lift up window is the best feature but it all makes me look at other cars when as an air cooled owner all those years ago I would never have strayed.
I laid a post earlier about fixing some targa squeaks. I haven't had the car long but the one long trip I took in it was a little disappointing - the squeaking was non-stop. Then I was playing in the back, removed the 'rear dash' and replaced it when I was done poking around. Noises gone.
As for wind noise? Yes there is some. But I've never been in another Porsche. Period. I have no comparable. The wind noise doesn't bother me. It seems reasonable considering the amount of rubber gasket that's on the car.
(so, yes, I bought a Porsche sight unseen, having never driven one. I figured "what's not to like?"). Talk about exhileration: jumping into a dream car you just bought, not knowing what it will feel like...
Now, as for dealer experience - I get the impression that there's probably only a half a dozen Targas in town so the local dealer won't have much experience. The screen that hides the track from view has become lodged in the retractor. I figure I have to take every single piece of equipment (roof motors, latch closure, wiper, etc) to get to the retracting/guide/vessel for the screen.
Anyone done this? It's possibly more than a cosmetic problem. I fear that the power cable for the sunshade will jam.
It depends on how fast you're going. At normal around town speeds, there is no noise and no buffeting. You also have the benefit of using the heater or A/C with the roof back, and the warmed/cooled air just stays in the cockpit.
At highway speeds, I get a bit of buffeting at speeds over 60 - 70 mph. I haven't tried opening a window a bit to see if it settles that down.
