Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I took the dash cluster out to see if check eng bulb was burnt and apparently the dealer I just bought it from removed the bulb and the bulb holder from both the check eng light and the low fuel light on the other side of the cluster.
Leading evidence: 'Check from top' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check eng light and the low fuel light' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I would recommend getting a computer printout of any engine faults, and totall engine run time to compare with the actual odometer reading...
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I took the dash cluster out to see if check eng bulb was burnt and apparently the dealer I just bought it from removed the bulb and the bulb holder from both the check eng light and the low fuel light on the other side of the cluster. Any idea if these two items are able to be purchased without buying a cluster? Thanks again, Rod from NH
I would think if you could prove the dealer did this and if there are one or more errors codes stored or one or more appear after some driving that's fraud.
And in this case I'd seek to get my money back.
Removing a burned out CEL bulb and CEL bulb holder is not by any reasonable stretch of imagination a legitimate repair.
Dare I say this kind of "fix" in that area also suggests to me that there may have been some odometer tampering?
Do not know if the bulb holders are purchasable separately. Visit your local Porsche parts department and have the vehicle's VIN handy and have the parts counter look up the part numbers, if they exist for these items.
I may be wrong, but I'd be surprised if the bulb holders are available separately. From the few times I've seen similar hardware exposed the bulb holders are as near as I can tell integral to the circuit board to which they are attached.
Sincerely,
Macster.
The carfax supports correct miles so I don't think thats a issue, I haven't flipped the cluster around completely but I can put my finger in the hole where the cel bulb would go, and I would guess if the hardware was still there it would be fush with the back of the cluster in order to turn and remove ?
This sounds awfully strange to have missing bulbs in a critical warning light... You may have a challenge in getting anyone to admit fault... I would recommend getting a computer printout of any engine faults, and totall engine run time to compare with the actual odometer reading... Hopefully you won't find any surprises..
good luck
+1 That's super shady. I'd bet that once you install that bulb and bulb holder that the bulb will be lit pretty quick......
Might be time for a durametric.
Did I dream this? I thought when that bulb was removed or burnt out. All the warning lights lit up to tell you that the CEL was popped? Maybe my dream?
